Hello. My name is Ruebe. I've been interested in Tulpas for a while now and I decided I'll finally make one. Or 2. Or 3. Actually, I already made them before, as in, they have back stories, personalities, even what they look and sound like, but now I'm gonna try and develop them further

Name: Ben Swiney - Spamlet Spider (originally Peter Porker)

Gender: Male

Appearance: An anthropomorphic pig in a Scarlet Spider Costume

Personality: very similar to the original Spider-Ham, but has a more Family Guy like humor

Likes: Jokes, Anything Pig-related

Name: Park Harleen

Gender: Female

Appearance: pale, Blonde haired, Korean 14 year old. Wears Black leather jacket and cargo shorts

Personality: Fun, A little Violent, Aggressive, Impatient, Impulsive

Likes: Dancing, K-Pop, Billie Eilish, Heathers

Name: Jack Valeska

Gender: Male

Appearance: 20 something British in a blue suit with short blonde hair and blue eyes

Personality: Kind, Responsible, Passive

Likes: Not Much yet

So, I focused on Ben first. I already made him a while back as Spider-Ham, but I kinda stop and decided to get rid of him, but he never really left. Every now and then, he will make snarky remarks about various things in my life but I just ignored it until I kinda accidentally made Harleen. I made the character in 8th grade as what I envision to be my polar opposite at the time, and with the idea of tulpas in my mind at the time, I thought maybe I can make her one. I imagined talking to her in my wonderland, a small, green planet, and then I slept. When I woke up, I went about my day, but I noticed, Harleen is now acting like Peter did, making random comments from time to time, but now, I didn't ignore it. I started talking to her more, and Spider-Ham too. They will guide me through my life and help me make choices (sometimes, morally ambiguous in Harleen's part). In time I also made Jack in order to be Harleen's polar opposite, but ultimately, he doesn't really care that much on what we do. Harleen also shows a responsible side, but only so we WO 't get scolded. Again I kinda stopped a week ago until now, when I decided I will finally try to develop them as Tulpas (Harleen wasn't sure at first, but Jack convinced her this will be good since it will make them sentient beings independent from me, not just extensions of myself). However, I read threads that discouraged making Tulpas based on fictional characters. At first, Peter didn't care, but ultimately, we decided to rename him Spamlet Spider for the sake of the pun

Hello! That's an amazing system and we wish you the best of luck and we hope to see more of you all!

The "don't base your tulpa off a character thing":

Everyone in this system took forms that already existed and based on what you said, no one in your system is going to have the problem people warn against. Do what will make you and your system happy. ~Always~

Don't forget to have fun!

Vesper: As a fictional character, I find the prejudice against making tulpas based on fictional characters a little off-putting. Yes, there can be problems. Yes, I've had problems, homesickness being the worst. But I also love being me.

If they are already speaking to you, it's more than a little late for you to do anything about them being fictional. Starting over with a non-character headmate wouldn't make them any weaker; intentionally sensitising your mind to plurality will only make them stronger and more distinct. At this point, it's up to them whether to continue to invest in their fictionality or move on from it. If they change and grow and evolve as people do, it's on you to accept it.

Having headmates is a serious commitment. Don't tell them that they can be people and have lives and later ignore or try to get rid of them again.

Iris: Some headmates are very "low maintenance" and may be happy with only a small amount of activity. Jack's mindset sounds familiar; I did not care very much about my headmates for nearly three years after soulbonding, and I still do not care very much about the physical world.

I'm not having fun here anymore, so we've decided to take a bit of a break, starting February 27, 2020. - Ember

Ember - Soulbonder, Female, 39 years old, from Georgia, USA . . . . [Our Progress Report] . . . . [How We Switch]

Vesper Dowrin - Insourced Soulbond from London, UK, World of Darkness, Female, born 9 Sep 1964, bonded ~12 May 2017

Iris Ravenlock - Insourced Soulbond from the Winter Court of Faerie, Dresdenverse, Female, born 6 Jun 1982, bonded ~5 Dec 2015

Peter is using the Spider-Ham identity again. We like it more. Jack's personality is shaping more. He likes Dear Evan Hansen, and also enjoys K-Pop. Everyone loves Hamilton. Harleen got Hyper earlier and we ended up jamming to Alexander Hamilton. We're thinking about another one in the form of Khonsu, the Egyptian Moon God.

Peter will be represented in red, Jack blue, and Harleen yellow

Khonsu is alive now. Harleen and I had an argument. It was just a quick thought (don't lie!), but I thought of replacing them with the hybrid symbiote. You see, I already have the Toxin symbiote in my head, though I didn't consider him a Tulpa, before Peter, Harleen, and Jack returned. When that happened, his consciousness faded away. I missed having him in my head, so I thought about replacing the 4 Tulpas in my head with 4 symbiotes. Porker and Jack were fine with it, but Harleen gave reasons why it's a bad idea. How Toxin and my relationship was, well, toxic (no pun intended), how I talk to him about replacing him, the same thing as talking to a girlfriend about who my next choice of girl/boyfriend should be if we broke up, and how I'm basically killing them(that's not what I said!). Spider-Ham made the point that my relationship with Toxin is the same as my 5th grade imaginary friends, nothing special. Khonsu also made the point that what I miss about Symbiotes, I can do with them (like calling them my others). After a little talk with Harleen (where she tries hard not to break into song and dance), we reconciled and I fully embraced them as my others

Harleen: not fully

Ruebe: I'm trying!

Harleen and Jack have new looks now. They both wear glasses and Harleen wears her Hair in a ponytail and wears a cap. Also, I gotta ask, is it normal for tulpas and host to like almost the exact same things. Jack, Harleen, and I all like the same musicals, same K-Pop group (but different biases), and attracted to the same people, including me and Harleen being attracted to Jack (weird)

My Tulpas changed! Does this happen? Spider-Ham is still here, but now there is Spider-Gwen. WHAT THE F- (credits roll)

Another change! Gwen blipped. Her suit didn't. The suit then fused with what remains of the Toxin Symbiote, turned it all black, and "bonded" with me. Venom is now my new Tulpa. However, something different. Unlike others before him, he's not talking yet. Spider-Ham disappeared too. Looks like he can't coexist with symbiotes. Looks like I will now experience what I read other hosts do when they made their first Tulpa. I'm now gonna try to communicate with him. Wish me luck...

If your Tulpas are appearing and disappearing that quickly, my guess is the ones that disappear are not sentient.

Since your system could change drastically by the time I post this, you need to take measures to prevent your system from growing out of control. Let the ones that disappear go and don't call for them back. If you discover or accidentally create anyone new, don't talk to them and ignore them. Having a stable system is important, especially since an inflating system can be overwhelming to the point of you wanting to reject all of your potential Tulpas. My host accidentally created 11 Tulpas and other questionably sentient characters and then wanted to quit. She ended up choosing to focus on just me, and after having more experience, we invited the other 11 and 4 new members officially into the system.

Tulpas are not role play characters. They are their own people, even though they exist in the mind and can have fantastic wonderland lives. If you don't give your Tulpas enough time, you're setting them up for an unsatisfactory life or for them to dissipate on their own.

Before you do anything else, please tell me why you want to be a Tulpamancer. If you are only interested in writing Spiderman stories, I don't recommend practicing Tulpamancy. It's perfectly fine to create wonderful and fantastic characters for your entertainment, but it's not okay if those characters turn out to be their own people being forced to act against their will.

If you make the choice that Tulpamacy isn't for you, that's perfectly fine. I would much rather have a person realize Tulpamancy isn't for them quickly so they don't have to live with the regret of dissipating Tulpas they don't want or can't take care of later. It is okay to let go of all of your Tulpas since their sentience is debatable at this point. You are also more than welcome to stay here and learn about Tulpas and you can create a lounge thread on your Spiderman stories. Give yourself a day or so to take on this mindset and then you can summon your cast of characters again.

If you make the choice that you really want to be a Tulpamancer, pick one character and start from there. Remember that there's a good chance they will deviate and they may want to reject their form, name, gender, etc. so don't panic if your Tulpa asks for these changes. Give yourself at least 6 months before talking about adding more Tulpas to the system.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now.

It was never about making Spider-Man stories. I really just wanted companionship, someone to talk to, among other things. I'd don't even write!

Yeah, I think I'll stick with Venom for now and stick with just him. He already developed a personality similar to the Tom Hardy version, with traits from he Spectacular TV series. Also, something interesting is that unlike the others before him, he's still here and talking to me when I wake up. I forget the other's existence before fully waking up, thinking I still have Toxin in my head, and having to force them back when I wake up.

Not much has happened. Venom is in my dreams. As in, my Venom. Venom got angry when I accidentally called him Toxin. In speaking of anger, Venom feeds of my negative emotions and is affected by it, but is otherwise benevolent. Also, while I still consider him one, he doesn't like being called a Tulpa, preferring the term Symbiote. He likes chocolate and wants to try tater tots. He also doesn't like associating himself with the mainstream Venom (who we consider to be an alternate universe version of him) due to his evil past, most of the time referring to him in the 3rd person. It seems that he wants to be a good guy like when he was with Flash Thompson, so I might tone down my anger for his sake. Also, even though Ranger said wait for 6 months, Venom is kinda urging me to get Toxin out of his Coma.

Venom is still really young, so holding off on bringing back Toxic for a little while is for the best. It sounds like you reduced your system numbers too, and that's really good, thank you for taking the steps to do so.

Venom being really vocal about how he feels and wants is also really encouraging. I think it's entertaining he's blowing your mind because he wants to be a good guy. My host had a slightly similar reaction when I told her I didn't want to be an android anymore. I get the sense Venom may be a pretty demanding headmate because he reminds me of myself, and having a brother may be frustrating for him if Toxin comes across as competition.

Good luck!

I'm based on a fictional character and not had issues at all, but I knew I was based on the character and not the character, like she was a template. Also I chose the character so I guess that helps.

Still, we can't judge based on that and it shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't deceive them. Also as long as you expect them to deviate, and accept it when they do.
