Separating the thoughts from the tulpa

How do you achieve the thought independence from each other, such as if i think to myself my tulpa wont be able to hear the thought and vice versa. As of now my tulpa can hear all of my thoughts and doesnt seems to have any thoughts that isn't projected toward me.
We've tried to do some symbolism, imagining a wall blocking our thoughts but that just doesnt work for us. Any insight is appreciated!

RE: Separating the thoughts from the tulpa

I think that any form of independence is the sort of thing that just happens with time. It might be an issue with the tulpa being able to think for itself, or it might be a communication issue, or both. Why the distinction? I know that I am sentient, but even then, after the time that my host Alcotriss and I have spent apart, our ability to communicate sort of broke down, and we had to build it up again. Alcotriss interepreted my inability to communicate as an inability to think for myself. I can't speak for the extent to which your tulpa can think, but the way I see it, the tulpa has to learn how to use different parts of the brain, whether it involves common sense, memories, language, moving the body, and so on. Either way, your tulpa will have to use your own "mind-space," so to speak, in order to learn how to use your brain on their own. Just give it some time, and don't be afraid to encourage them to be more independent. ;)

As for your tulpa's ability to hear all your thoughts, after having your brain all to yourself for many years, you are likely more noisy than you think. You are likely speaking tulpish without even realizing it, and verbalizing your thoughts, on top of that. At least, that is the case with Alcotriss. Not that I mind; I like hearing her thoughts. It's kind of nice to know that she's there, even when I'm hanging out in our wonderland. On the other hand, I think it was pretty annoying for her at first, knowing that I could hear her every thought. Anyways, I am not sure that is the case with you and your tulpa, but I think that could be a possibility. Perhaps you could try actively attempting to speak tulpish to see if it helps you better understand the distinction. Or perhaps you can try changing how your own voice sounds inside of your head, again to help with the distinction. Or your tulpa can just learn how to ignore you.
