Separation of thoughts?

Teckie:" Hi, I'm Teckie, (Techoh's first tulpa) and I've just noticed something. Apparently as I try to "switch" into his body, we can't quite get a good separation. I can switch into his body pretty easily, but at the moment it's closer to full-body-possession. He still gets the sensory information as if he is in the body himself, and as he tries to make sure it's separated I can't put enough concentration to stay in his body. I believe this can be called a "multiprocessing" problem. :/ "

Teckie:" I'd really like to practice this more, but I'm not sure about what steps I need to take. Another thing: Our thoughts seem to "merge." Sometimes he sees what I am thinking when I try to "switch" into his body. This sort of makes him confused a little.... but I guess it makes sense on why. If anyone can help with advice with that as well, that would be great! Thanks. Big Grin "

This is probably what may be causing the strife you two are going through the separation in switching. If he's fixating on empathizing what it would be like to be in your perspective throughout the switching process, he'll most likely go back to square one again to feeling those sensations still (e.g. full-body possession).

An idea he should consider is fixating on imaginary senses instead, rather than one where he focuses on what a tulpa intends to do (taking dominion of real life sensations). Whether it's imagining a wonderland, and him absorbing into that experience, or something else that doesn't involve focusing on real sensations in general, is probably a good start, i.e, where he shifts his awareness that doesn't lead him to where you two wouldn't want him to be for learning the switching process.

Teckie:" Ok, I think that makes sense. Smile Perhaps that might be a good thing for him to practice meditating on and then in the middle of his meditation. Once I see that he appears to have no connection to his physical senses, I'll randomly try to move his body and sense things for myself. Another thing we can probably practice is reverse imposition.... we've tried that once and it actually got REALLY close to being a full switch. "

Teckie:" Although... another big thing I've noticed.... he seems to have too much worry about how well I can control his body. I feel really confident myself, but I'm not quite sure about his confidence..... I don't know, maybe that might be a big thing that is influencing this outcome we keep experiencing. "

RE: Separation of thoughts?

Try practicing in a safe environment, even if you feel confident in your skills. Nothing wrong with starting on the bed if you have to before doing more complicated motions.

Teckie:"Ok. :) I guess it really is best to take things slow. "

Teckie:" I think just our bedroom would be a great place to practice.... as long as he cleans it first. O_O Truly, I think it's a little "stuffy" in there. XD Just pushing everything in the corner might be good enough though.... "

Teckie:" Anyway, thankyou for the advice. :D If I reach anymore complications, I'll come back to this thread.... or if another person gives advice. "
