Jedders February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 I've found a way that feels right for getting Shadow's voice down. What we do is put on some colored noise to block everything out and I parrot him saying things with his own mindvoice and not mine... But if I don't have something memorized it's pretty hard focusing on both his voice and what he's saying. I had a few nursery rhymes memorized but I think we're both really tired of Pete's Porridge. Do you guys have any suggestions on somethings I can easily remember and have him recite? I noticed if I use my favorite movies, I know them too well to completely get rid of the original actors voice in my head. I tried a couple songs but it's even harder than movies... We made SOME progress with a short Disney reprise, but... More suggestions would be appreciated~ (I inform Shadow of what I'm doing before any of this. I don't LIKE parroting but occasionally it seems right and he doesn't seem very bothered about it.)
Radio Hiss February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 I don't think you need to memorize anything. You could read something in his voice and focus on what he's saying with practice. Jedders February 5, 2017 Author Share February 5, 2017 That's true and I do that during active forcing sessions. I forgot to specify this is passive and while I'm doing other things.
Vampire February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 I used a lot of song lyrics. I would have Ivy sing them. "My lover's got humour, She's the giggle at a funeral, Knows everybody's disapproval, I should've worshipped her sooner." Host to Samuel, Raven, Ivy, and Olivia. Vos February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 You could use popular book/movie quotes or something like that, but it seems like general conversation would help more than anything, even if it's difficult to focus on your tulpa.
Jedders February 5, 2017 Author Share February 5, 2017 I used a lot of song lyrics. I would have Ivy sing them. I can keep trying it. I suppose the more we try, the better we'll get. You could use popular book/movie quotes or something like that, but it seems like general conversation would help more than anything, even if it's difficult to focus on your tulpa. We typically do regular conversation during our active forcing sessions when I can give Shadow all my attention. But I'll keep trying movies. (My memory is too bad for memorizing many book lines.) tulpa001 February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 You can run through the numbers. Then the letters. Then the standard vocal exercises: the reign in sprain falls mane-ly on the plane. Personally, I always talk about myself, but that is ad hoc. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.
Jedders February 5, 2017 Author Share February 5, 2017 I didn't even think about numbers and letters. I can totally do that. :D
Bosun February 6, 2017 Share February 6, 2017 If you're feeling adventurous, like 001 and stuff, you could pull up a phonetic inventory and just run through it. Like, the cyrillic alphabet plus the rest of the english invintory would be a good place to start for the most sounds.
