What I can get currently is certain senses (touch in particular) fairly vividly imagined, but it isn't like it's on my physical hand. My hand might go partway numb (in a weird way that isn't the same sort of numb as like sitting on it), but the imagined sensation doesn't appear there. It stays in the wonderland, on my body there.

Exactly, you are not physically feeling it like imposition, you are feeling it in wonderland until you dont feel the physical.

I've been switching from time to time about 4 years ago. I wouldn't consider myself a master or even good at it, but I can share the dificulties that I've had switching.

1. Letting go of controll, I can't fully switch because I try and checkout when my ..."tulpa" takes controll so he doesn't do anything that I may regret.
2. Letting your tulpa know that he has to do a few things to make sure his identity is reflected in his actions. I'd consider a tulpa as an specific energy that has thoughts feelings, etc etc, and that has to be imposed actively in the body, sometimes distracting too much may produce, loosing sync with the body.
3. Letting go of my identity, this problem reduces the posibility of your tulpa expressing his own personality. It's hard letting go, cause you have to be willing of not being in controll of your actions, thoughts and personality.

I'm keeping on practicing lately, the feeling of being someone else is interesting.

For 3 that would be the easiest for me since I stopped associating my personality to our body ever since we learned possession

Huh, I realize I sort of passively do some of this stuff for fun. I never thought about actually practicing it, it sounds like it would totally work. Thanks for the awesome guide.

Hmm, I used to be wondering if this switching out of the body (without tulpa switching in) is possible. Has anyone tried it before? If so, then what happens to the body, does it just go *pomf* or can you make it sit still in certain position?
What I was thinking of is using this for forcing in general. Cutting off all the senses seems to be perfect for getting rid of distractions. Is it possible to get to the point where one wouldn't even realize that others are trying to wake him up? And then, could you make some kind of a trigger, a keyword that would be the only thing from the outside world that would reach you?

Still a rather long-term goal for me but just wondering if anyone did that before.
