tulpa001 February 3, 2017 Share February 3, 2017 Possibly a deceptively simple question. Does it make sense to say you can sleep in the front, or does sleeping count as not fronting? Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.
Lucilyn February 3, 2017 Share February 3, 2017 preeetty sure Tewi answered this question (for our answer at least) here: https://community.tulpa.info/thread-lumi-s-dreaming-thread-dreams-of-moon?pid=177896#pid177896 at least for us, we can sleep while fronting. Since right at the beginning sometimes one of us would go to sleep switched but Lumi would be the one who woke up, I could see that not really being the case for other people, but that doesn't happen anymore. For the weird stuff about dreaming from the others' perspectives, hopefully the post I linked covers it Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points. Vos February 4, 2017 Share February 4, 2017 I'm not familiar with a lot of the newer community terms that have been popping up, but by the looks of it after searching "fronting" up, the answer would be yes. That's only if I'm understanding it correctly, though.
Lucilyn February 4, 2017 Share February 4, 2017 is fronting a new term? I mean it's from some other plurality community I think but it just means being switched, though some people probably use it to mean possession but I never understood how people can immerse themselves with only possession anyway. Vos February 4, 2017 Share February 4, 2017 From the definition on .io, it looks like fronting can involve possession or switching, but those aren't required since it's just about "receiving sensory input" from the body. I've seen it thrown around a lot, but I never went out of my way to learn what it was about until now.
tulpa001 February 4, 2017 Author Share February 4, 2017 If it is about receiving sensory input, then sleep means you are not fronting, since that is a time when you stop receiving sensory input. This supports the idea that I am never out of the front, as I have not been disconnected from the senses while awake for many months. It also relates to the concepts of daydreaming and dissociation. Daydreaming and other dissociative events are two other possible ways for normal people to stop receiving sensory input yet involve remaining conscious. I think the term fronting is more useful than possession or switching. It is a more basic term, which makes it easier to use. It is clear that I am fronting, but not clear if I am switched. Lucilyn February 4, 2017 Share February 4, 2017 yeah fronting is a pretty easy term, it means you're the one interacting with the world plain and simple. But I still don't understand how someone can "possess" for more than an entire day Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! Doctorfoxwolf February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 But I still don't understand how someone can "possess" for more than an entire day By not sleeping. Lucilyn February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 definitely not what I meant, I meant like.. how can you be-reaching-over someone 24/7? Sounds sooooooo... well I guess I just have switching privilege, we never really did possession, I think only like Reisen ever did it even, but it feels so much less satisfying Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! FallFamily February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 [Hail] That is a good question. Many use the phrasing sleep at the front to mean they were fronting and the body went to sleep and they stayed at the front while dreaming (meaning that they would wake up in the body if the body was woken) and possibly wake up in the morning in the body or swap to someone else who would at some point. That is how we usually use it. But now, this has me thinking. is fronting a new term? I mean it's from some other plurality community I think but it just means being switched, though some people probably use it to mean possession but I never understood how people can immerse themselves with only possession anyway. The term has been around since at least the late 90's but is a recent import into the tulpamancy community from other plural communities.
