chaoticpix93 February 3, 2014 Share February 3, 2014 No, not Deja vu but something else entirely. Every day I read these forums and I know I've done this before. Maybe, 13 years ago. (Someone else can do the math, it was 2001.) Everything I read, all relates to that experience I had back then. It's like, tulpamancy on hard mode, because tulpa wasn't even a thing yet. I've written about this on my tumblr and reddit, and I'll save you a very long story. It's just weird that after all this time I finally have a name for what I did, and that they'd done all the same things. I kid you not, this process is the Exact. Same. Thing. I just called it something else and created my own paradigm for it to be in. The same worries, the same processes, the same questions. Chupi February 3, 2014 Share February 3, 2014 Yep, there are other people here who made a tulpa or something like many years before coming here. Apparently it's not quite as rare as many tend to think it is. A few tulpas from back then are even still around. So, yeah, "this has all happened before. This will all happen again" (Battlestar Galactica). See also Albatross' post. chaoticpix93 February 3, 2014 Author Share February 3, 2014 "I made a tulpa before it was mainstream." -corey_anne, tulpa hipster You know that's hilarius. I'm honored by the title. /sarcasm. It's true though... I kinda wanna go through my old notebooks I diliigently wrote in back then, too. Well, there were even books about making tulpas in the 70's (though, termed "thought friends"). Yeah, and books from the 70's are all past publication date. 2001 was a few years before google books made anything searchable. I had to rely on poorly created geocities sites and what internet there was at the time, and the library. I was reluctant to talk about my experiences even with the more open-minded of the pagan community I was hanging out in, mainly because even then I thought, meh, this can't be happening. And the few people that I did tell, had no idea what the hell was going on. And also, I was coming from this at an entirely different angle. I really was flying blind. I thought he was legitimately real, our place to hang out was in the real world (really, based off places in the real world) and it was just too weird an experience. (At one point a friend theorized that maybe he was a past-life incarnation of someone I used to know. I kid you not!) “Life was a wheel, its only job was to turn, and it always came back to where it started.” - Stephen King “No great thing is created suddenly.” -Stephen King
glitchthe3rd February 4, 2014 Share February 4, 2014 I made my first back in 2003, before I even knew what a tulpa was. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
Kaosukage February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 All of my tulpas were made before I had a word for what it is, so yeah, it really is kinda weird. Hakkyou: Eh, apparently it's not that hard.
