I only sleep about 4-5 hours so it's when I go into a longer sleep that I dream

Sounds about right. Remembering early dreams tends to be harder. If you wake up at least once and go back to sleep, it leads to a high likelyhood of remembering your dreams or becoming lucid.

All what I can report is that, my dream got significantly more vivid, since when i started tulpaforcing. But my feeling on this are, that's it's more due to meditation than tulpa inself.
