Tips on starting to tulpaforce this thing

I've read (LOL skimmed...) through nearly all the guides on this site about this frickin awesome tulpa phenomon, and I feel like I'm ready to start forcing (after I learn how to spell phenoNOMNOM). As far as I understand, the steps are:

1-personality traits

2-visualization

3-narration, and incorporation...or implantation, ya know what I mean...

Only problem is, do I just dive in or is there a method to personality traiting? I'm eager to try out this thing, as I love all things psychological. Also, can a lot of traits be 'picked' by the tulpa itself, along with a name? Feelin lazy here...

Also, can I just create a ball of energy with sentience at first - then afterwards: working with the being to make a human form the way /it/ wants? Can't decide if lazy, or thoughtfull...

What I did was the whole ball of sentience first, which then took on a form. So yeah, go for it.

Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.

Alright thanks, ThatOneGuy. Just to clarify, 'cause I'm a detail-oriented ass lol, I just jump right in and create a shell so to speak, and then assign it traits left and right?

The shell, or form, usually comes after sentience, it was just coincidence mine came before. Do whatever feels right to you; form then traits or traits then form.

I mean like when I assign traits, without a shell I feel like my traits are being projected into thin air so to speak. Like theyres no 'target' for them to be assigned to. That's what I mean by a shell, more of something to talk TO. Hell, if it's going to be a glowing ball I might just do that first, it's really easy to visualize a ball lol

I thought you did a pony form first, then the tulpa decided to change into something more human? Did it first gain the pony form after sentience?

Whoadamn. I admit, I thought about a pony tulpa at first, but if this things gonna be around till the day I die, it might as well be something I can relate to ie human.

The person to attribute this to slips my mind, but I think the best way to start is to have a 20 minute session as a form of introduction. Basically just sit down and explain to your soon-to-be tulpa what you're going to be doing, in what order, etc. and just try to talk to it. It is often difficult for people in the beginning because they feel like they're just talking to themselves, so this helps eliminate that issue for the most part.
