To People With Fictional Character Tulpas

I've been browsing the forums a bit, and I've noticed that I'm not the only one with a tulpa based on a fictional character. There actually seems to be a lot of them, and it got me wondering if anyone else on here had a tulpa based on the same character as mine. So, after a quick search, I found that there was one other person on here who has an Asriel Dreemurr tulpa like I do. I was soon very curious about how their Asriel was different from mine, and if they had any similarities as well (aside from name and appearance, of course). But, sadly, this person hasn't made any more posts since then, so I have no way of finding out.

But now, I want to ask you guys...

Have you ever encountered anyone with a tulpa based on the same fictional character as one of yours? If so, how did your tulpas compare? Did it feel awkward at all (for either the hosts or tulpas)? Did you actually get to speak to the person about it?

I look forward to hearing your stories, if you have any.

Tulpa: Asriel

Never met anyone with a Judy Hopps tupper but I doubt it would be awkward. Even if you base a Tulpa on a fictional character, each one is an individual and their forms are more of an aesthetic choice than an unchangeable part of their being like our physical bodies.

I'd imagine if we met another Judy Hopps Tulpa, it'd be a bit like meeting someone wearing the same outfit; kind of a neat coincidence, but nothing really significant.

I want to be ignored

Don't want a speaking part

I don't want any one to notice

The blood spilling out of my exploding heart

We met someone with a Tewi tulpa once. Their host asked ours if I also "like to cook and clean". Jeez..

I've yet to see any encounters where the experience was awkward. People generally have the same attitude you do, wanting to know what others' tulpas are like. Typically the characters are more of a heavy influence than literally being "

Buzz Lightyear?" As we don't think we are literally the characters, there's less expectations of us to be exactly the same. It's more like individual interpretations.

That being said, I don't think I would be super comfortable around others based on the same characters as us. See, it's not weird to see someone based on the same character normally, true. But I've lived with the others for years, nearly seven for two of them. It just feels weird to see other tulpas based on those characters, because they aren't us, I guess? We got used to treating portrayals of the characters themselves as just fan interpretations (if I'm being honest, our canonical connections are rather strong for all of us but Flandre, who broke hers. We don't think we're the characters, but it feels like there's a connection. Well, we were based on them, after all). But it's different when it's an actual person.

Maybe, maybe not. That's probably a silly thing to think. Anyways, it's because I consider them my family. So seeing another tulpa like them means I have to make that differentiation.

Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I often switch to take care of things for the others.

All I want is a simple, peaceful life. With my family.

[Tri] Violet knows and has run into more than a few fictives of the same character as she is. In fact, we actually have another fictive of the same character, E., within our own system. Violet gets along pretty well with these folks. No real awkwardness or issues to speak of. As for Violet and E.'s relationship, it has become mother daughter with Violet (as well as the rest of our subsystem) becoming E.'s mother.

Obsidian and Gaea (the other two main members of our subsystem) are fictives as well. We haven't run into anyone else who is a fictive of the same character as Obsidian, but we expect there must be at least one out there. As for Gaea, her source is more obscure and it is doubtful that there is anyone else from her source, spare perhaps in the same brain as the author.

Surprisingly, I have yet to run in to another person with a duplicate of any of my fiction-folk. Even with the more popular ones, I seem to be unique in having them. I mean, I know no one's likely to build a construct in the form of Rurido Dorris, because very few people have even heard of D4 Princess, much less watched it. But Kaname Madoka? I'm actually kind of surprised I don't see more of her at times.

That said, I'm not complaining about it much.

Heya. I'm just going to leave my usual plug for soulbonding.org here. I've seen a couple Undertale-based soulbonds around there, particularly based on Asriel or Chara. So hop on over there and feel free to ask the same question. You may see one or two from another Asriel. ;)

Alright, thanks for the link! I'm looking at the forums there, and I already found another person with Asriel. Although it doesn't seem to be as active over there as it is here, I'll still check it out.

In response to the other replies: Yes, I know that fictional character tulpas are their own individual people, separate from the original characters. But I was still wondering if it might feel awkward for a tulpa if they met another that looked like them, and had the same name, but wasn't actually the same person. But I agree that it's not really a big deal; I was just curious.

And now that I think about it, that would be a good way to meet new people with the same interests!

I think it can become a problem if people expect any symbolic feature of that character to mean the same for everybody else. (Search: "Draco in Leather Pants" and "Ron the Death Eater" on TV Tropes if you're familiar with Harry Potter.) This is a far more common problem than it should be, because yes, otherwise it should just be a way to meet people with common interests and enjoy geeking out about it.

From a new Member. Two, that is.

Might be weird, it's definitely random. But my Tulpa is a Chara Dreemurr.

She'd love to meet your Asriel, if you didn't mind. We've been trying to find others like her, from the undertale universe.

Specifically another Chara, but she would love to meet Asriel as well.

PM me, if you ever see this and would like to chat.
