JaySkyecrest May 19, 2015 Share May 19, 2015 Ok, so when I joined this forum I was not a brony. Then about a year later I became one. Anyway, to those who have pony tulpae, what are some pros to making a pony tulpa as opposed to a more realistic tulpa? For example, are they easier to visualize because of their simplicity? I am trying to decide on making a pony tulpa, or a realistic animal of some kind. Realistic human is out of the question for me though^^ any suggestions? Muffin May 19, 2015 Share May 19, 2015 I don't think there is any difference between a human tulpa and a pony tulpa (or any form). After all, it is just the form the tulpa takes, not the personality. But it would be easier to visualize a cartoon pony than a realistic human. Ro Tembrin May 19, 2015 Share May 19, 2015 It sure will be simpler to visualize. At the other hand by making tulpa unrealistic you simply make it feel more unrealistic. If this won't bother you I don't see any more concerns. inthesystem.tumblr.com
RedKkPuppy May 20, 2015 Share May 20, 2015 I don't have a pony tulpa, but ive read in multiple places that it is easier to visualize a cartoon form than a realistic one. That's what I'm working on with my tulpa, starting with more of a cartoon form and then seeing how they feel about having more details and realistic qualities. Luminesce May 20, 2015 Share May 20, 2015 Yeah, ease of visualization has nothing to do with pony form, just cartoon form. And that applies to cartoon and anime characters in general. But you could also have a realistic pony... Or a cartoony animal. Just go with whatever feels the most comfortable to you. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Hermit May 22, 2015 Share May 22, 2015 I don't think it's easier to visualize a cartoon form rather than to visualize a realistic human form. You can see a lot of real humans every day and you know the way they interact with the real world: how they move, how their face expressions works, how they look in 3D-space. On the other hand, I don't think you see lots of cartoon ponies in real life. Yes, they are more simple in details, but you can't have an idea of how they will interact with the environment. [/quote'] If you pay attention to these details, then maybe. My host had to double her attention to finally start seeing these. Before that there was only a 'general concept' of skin, expressions and movement. That's also why drawers/painters have to observe reality very carefully - to not mess up the colors, textures, proportions and perspective. inthesystem.tumblr.com
RedKkPuppy May 22, 2015 Share May 22, 2015 Hermit, yes, seeing a human is easy. But visualizing one that you created? That you have to work on /before/ you are able to see all their details? Not so much.

Actually it doesn't have to be hard at all, I cant visualise at all so what I did is I put a drawing up of my tulpa and just meditate on the drawing. Through the drawing my Tulpa actually pulls facial expressions and actually moves. and today though the drawing is black and white.. Im suddenly seeing him all in colour for first time. Even if someone didn't have a drawing and cant visualise it shouldn't matter a great deal if they put in the time and effort as just thinking of the tuplas presence always about in certain location .. its like they can create themselves. I think this is how the tibetians used to do it.. I've heard that they just used to allow the features to happen and would as time went by, pick up things about their tulpas features (Ive heard they used to just think of it as being like a monk). Some are using http://www.morphthing.com/morph to make a human like photo. For me though I cant visualise, I do think it would be far harder for me to think of a pony walking then a human walking (that is even though I did have horses half my life). FallFamily May 23, 2015 Share May 23, 2015 Tri: Cartoon style forms can be easier to visualize except for issues with making them 3D. This is true regardless of whether one's form is human, pony, or otherwise. Non-cartoon can be harder in other ways like detail but easier in others such as becoming 3D. We were originally cartoon style but became more realistic over time. There wasn't much difficulty.
