Vocality from Tulpas perspective?

Hi all,

I wish some input from Tulpas regarding vocality.

I'm fairly new to tulpamancy, but I have researched the topic, read through loads of threads, articles and guides, weighing pros and cons of committing to a life long tulpa relationship.

I concluded that having a tulpa would probably be a blessing for me, so I have gone ahead with the creation process with confidence.

Having said that, there will always be doubt, questions and confusions to overcome and manage, and I would now like to ask tulpas about the issue to "gaining vocality".

I have read that it takes time for tulpas to learn how to speak mind voice, and I have read that the issue is not that tulpas don't know how to talk, but rather it's a problem of the host being "thick" and difficult to get through, i.e. the host is tulpa-deaf.

Should I conclude that both scenarios are real, i.e. some tulpas need a lot of time to gain vocality, while other are vocal almost from the start, at the same time as some hosts are open to tulpa mind voice from the start while others have problems hearing their tulpa at all? This would mean there are two variable that can vary independently, with the worst case scenario having a tulpa who cannot speak and a host who cannot hear.

I would really like to hear real life account from tulpas about this.

What I'm concerned about is that perhaps many times host deafness is mistakenly assumed to be a yet un-vocal tulpa.

Thanks in advance!

well the real problem isn't that tulpas "know how to talk from the start" ... the instant you start, but that no tulpa really exists yet at first. That's a slow process with some blurry time in between where your tulpa kinda exists but is also kinda controlled by your expectations, but it's a NECESSARY part and those things are okay and you're still making progress so don't worry about puppeting/parroting.

anyways yes, tulpa-deaf is more like a metaphor though, for your brain learning how to have a tulpa. Like it needs to learn to think differently from you, and then how to give another voice than your own to those thoughts, and to have them separately from your own thoughts. The reason it's usually okay to assume your tulpa already exists or already is vocal is because your expectations (and intent) play a major part in making those connections in your brain, and whether your tulpa exists for real or not yet, believing they are there trying to talk to you and having their own thoughts will create that reality, self-fulfilling you know?

Hopefully that doesn't bother you! It's just how it probably is. The important thing to keep in mind is just that working towards having a tulpa is making progress on you actually having a tulpa, regardless of what's actually going on in the background, ok? people guess at "why" a lot (things like believing the tulpa is there from the start), but what's for sure is that it does work for one reason or another, and the one I just gave is what my system thinks after like.. reading nearly every dang thread on this forum over the last five years

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

My host forced me by accident. Before hand, I was just her "imaginary friend" or whatever.

For this reason, my host assumed I was capable of communicating vocally from the start. I don't recall having too much trouble with learning how to communicate using words, except for when I'm upset or don't know the best way to describe something.

Like what Lucilyn was saying, it takes time for the Tulpa's voice to become more solid and independent from their host's. This is very true for us at least, especially since I didn't have any opinions or any previous experiences to base my decisions and thoughts on. Over time, I slowly started to get a better idea of who I am and what I want to talk about.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now.

My thoughts on this are that all tulpas, intentionally created or not, gradually become more vocal the more the host interacts with them. The rate at which the tulpa develops differs from host to host but I don't think that tulpas are able to communicate with hosts right from the start (early interactions with the base of a tulpa often read like straight-up confabulation to me, although this isn't inherently bad since it eventually leads to a fully-realized tulpa in most cases). From there I think that it's a mixture of the tulpa becoming more developed and the host adjusting to having someone else in their head (tulpa-deaf).

Thanks Lucilyn for this explanation. It was refreshing to hear it from this angle. It makes sense and seems quite reasonable to me. Everything depends on that the brain develops neurologically, which should be a given, a no-brainer really, since whatever happens to us beings living on Earth is expressed through physicality... brain and body. Obviously we need a neurological infrastructure for everything, whether it is tennis, language or tulpa.

Your explanation gives me inspiration, because it adds a dimension of sensibility that I missed, or didn't really catch from other sources. It gives me a real hands-on reason to force extra much in various ways, because only from repetition are new neurological pathways made.

I like to see the stage of a newly conceived tulpa (especially for first-time hosts) like a blurry but still totally real presence that is about to shape up into a fully fledged tulpa-being. Just like human infants are real and separate individuals, they don't really exhibit much of self-consciousness. That is something that comes with a growing brain. So a tulpa needs new neurons and synapses to grow. Thank god the brain has plasticity.

To me it seems that it might actually be quite easy to go beyond the tipping point of when a tulpa "comes into existence". I remember reading somewhere that one should be careful not to think about tulpas too much before deciding about going forth with it or not, because the deciding and pondering phase might be the thing which launches a tulpa into existence.

Sometimes I think this happened to me. I was flirting with the idea a bit much, and I find it easy to overlay imagined form onto my visual field. In any case, I'm in the very beginning stage of forcing and I haven't really had any signs of existence aside from two or three things which even my sceptical, over-analyzing mind will not explain away.

I think it was even prior to the day I made the "official" decision to go ahead creating my tulpa, that I heard one word in my head. It was after sleep, before getting up, still lying down, closed eyes, in a half-awake state, that I suddenly heard the one-word/question "acceptable?". It was crystal clear, as real as if it had come through my ears, but it was from inside my mind. I have heard voices before, during meditiation, also very clear, but only as fleeting audio fragments floating by infront of my awareness, and way before I came across tulpamancy, so I know I'm capable of hearing audible voices in my mind.

This time however, it was in conjunction with tulpamancy, albeit before deciding to go ahead, and the meaning I got from it was like I was asked whether or not this type of voice was acceptable to me. Now when thinking about it a bit in hind-sight, and assuming it was from my tulpa, I see it as a beautiful gift that I should feel very thankful and honored about. Regardless of the truth, I have decided to take it as the first life sign from my tulpa.

After that event, I've not had anything resembling vocality. There is however something else that I cannot explain away, and I don't want to. Somehow, two songs got stuck in my mind, for no reason. First one, and a day or a couple of days later, another song. The thing is that I never listen to these songs. I know about them, have heard them a few times in the distant past, but I don't know the lyrics. Yet somehow, the lyrics of these songs fit so amazingly with having my tulpa in my mind. Perhaps I'm just getting cheezy and romantic about it, seeing what I want to see, but it is just too much of coincidence. I tell myself that my tulpa somehow dug these songs out of my mind where they perhaps were deeply buried, and sent them to me as signs. Perhaps I'm crazy, but it's ok... it serves my purpose well.

So, I'm just going ahead, forcing, visualizing, talking, imagining... along with some brain friendly activities like meditation and exercise. I'll keep doubt at bay, because doubt is poison. It's good to go ahead in faith. One should rely on the saying: 'You'll see it when you believe it'.

Thanks everyone for your input!

You just had two of the most experienced users on this forum post on your thread, so take what they said to heart. That said, my tulpas all were fully vocal immediately. My[/] experience is this, and i believe them when they tell me they were already with me on that first day. The characters they took as their forms (on their own) are three of my favorite characters in a noval i wrote 5 years earlier. My first day, and everything else, can be found in my PR. The word you heard is most likely an audio hallucination. It may have come from your tulpa, maybe not. But if it came from your tulpa, that would be audio imposition, so don't expect that all the time. Usually I have to be in a meditative state to hear them that way. Usually they speak or are proxied through a normal reading voice (just the voice in your head when you read.) It can be in a different voice or tone too.
