What do you think the "Ideal" tulpa limit is?

(Not sure if this does, or doesn't go into the "Off Topic" Section, so until then I guess I'll stick this shit here... also this thread may or may not exist yet. Just something for me to complain about I guess.)

Title says it all.

I've seen people with numbers of tulpalamas ranging from 1 to 18 in my time on the site. And even then, I'm fairly sure someone on the site has broken that record in tulpa creation... or at least someone's trying. This is something I've been noticing (and someone else must've since there's a god damned comic illustrating the subject of tulpa-overpopulation) over my time, and at first I thought "Woah, look at all them tulpalamas. They must be a bad ass.", though with a little more maturity over tulpa I can't help but think "Wow... so many tulpalamas... they must think they have the biggest pillar of flesh huh?".

The reason I say this is because there's times at which I see people professing "Oh, I've got 12 tulpalamas" and then someone else's like "Oh, I've got 15" and so on and so forth. This might go hand in hand with the term that shall not be named

(Role Playing)

problem going around on the site and IRC, but I notice can't help but feel like the creation of tulpalamas is less for a companion, less for the betterment of one's self, and less for the understanding of one's psychology, but rather it becomes more like a competition to be better than another person and have bragging rights. To treat their "tulpalamas" less like companions and more like trophies. Another thing I notice about some tulpamancers creating tulpalamas seem to do it to create an increasingly large security blanket for them, rather than, again, companions. Something to boost their own egos, tell them they're great, and essentially treat them like a king or, dare I say, a god. Barely treating them like individuals and more like property. Sorry if I'm getting into more of the "why one shouldn't create a tulpa" (or if I basically stated the same argument twice)when I know there's much better places to read about that, so I'll just get to my point.

I believe there's a limit, or rather a number of tulpalamas one should personally have. The reason I believe this, and again, this number might vary from person to person, is because of how much attention one can provide for each tulpa. I say a each tulpa needs attention from the host only from my own experience, but I also know of tulpalamas that can be alright on their own... but then again, that goes into the question of what was the point of making them if you're not interacting with them, besides just to say "Oh, I got that tulpa too". That even a tulpa, a healthy happy tulpa (again, in accordance to my beliefs) needs as much love as the host can provide. And I must ask... do you think that many of us strive to break that limit as we attempt to compare ourselves to other hosts and tulpalamas, not thinking of our own tulpalamas as we attempt/continue to increment out tulpa count?

I suppose I'm asking... what do you think that the ideal number of tulpalamas one person should have? And perhaps a why to accompany that number.

Personally, I think 3 is a good number for two reasons. It's small, for starters, and it's also something where, if you try to focus on one tulpa, the other two can keep eachother at least vaguely entertained until they can all be paid attention to evenly again.

So... what do you think the best number is?

Two or three, four if you are pushing it, i think that eventually if you get over 5, then you may have problems balancing out attention to all their tulpae, and it will be harder to not develop stockholm's syndrome and pick favourites, basicaly the reasons you said. it should be noted that this is what i think will happen, and not what the "RP" threshold is

However, i do feel that a lot of the 5+ members here aren't the aformented terms because of the fact that much of their experences seem genuine, rather than over the top plain madness, and even then some of the crazy things that make up may be true because their minds are diffrent than ours

TL;DR: i'd say 4 max, but i do think that with enough determination you can go over that

i am forever banned from drinking orange juice because my tulpa hates it with a burning passion

I feel like 10 is an upper limit of what most human brains can comfortably handle, but realistically the only limits in tulpaforcing are the ones you impose yourself. You could have 100 or more if you wanted, all that's holding you back is your own mentality.

No, I don't think many of us are striving to have the most tulpae, if any at all. Look at many of the hosts here and you'll find that many only have one to three. As of right now, I've only made one and I'll probably only be making one more eventually. An upper limit for someone who is hellbent on having a large group of tulpae would be somewhere between seven and ten. At least that is what I think.

One is plenty for me now. I would have a hard time not picking favorites.

That said, another tulpa is not entirely out of question, but not until I finish my first.

How do people even handle more than one tupper. When do you get to have your own me time?

As others have said, I would go for a limit of three or four. It creates a good, small group dynamic. However, I don't believe in starting one tulpa until the other is finished, fully imposed, and able to parallel process. After that is done, then it is okay to move on. I feel as if anything else is unfair to the current tulpa.

I feel like this definitely varies between people, and as for myself I'll most likely just stick with the one.

And as far as the people "trying to get the most tulpas", that's bullshit. That's like me saying that I'm gonna go and paint the most paintings, only to go and splatter one or two bits of paint on every canvas and call each a painting. They're worthless and calling these things paintings or tulpas is ridiculous. Even the concept of "trying to make as many tulpas as possible" is flat out stupid. If you have a lot of unique and well-fleshed out tulpa that all help you with specific things or have some unique impact on you, then that's great, really good job. But turning it into a simple numbers game is pointless.

Personally, I'd rather have one very well devolped tulpa that I'm very close to, than two or more tulpae that I have to split up my attention for. And I think there is a certain point where your brain would become a mixed up mess if you created too many tulpas.
