I enjoy power metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, European metal, ska, rock. Bands such as Gamma ray(favorite), Dream Theater(2nd favorite, they blow my mind) Helloween, Manowar, Hammerfall, Iron savior, Freedom call, The planet smashers, The mighty mighty bostones, Jorn, Avantasia, Axxis, Johny cash, Dark moor, Dio, Edguy, Flogging molly,Joe Satriani, Journy, The killers, Lordi, The last slice, Primal fear, Rage, Rhapsody of fire, Sabaton, Sonata Artica, Luca Turilli, Stratovarius, AC-DC and exc.

Co(tulpa) likes Johnny cash and The last slice, because I sing along and she enjoys that, she says I do pretty well. She also likes My chemical romance, The killers, Insturmental/clasical music, NIghtwish, The offspring, Panic at the disco. I am still learning about her musical tastes.

We can both agree on Nightwish, Imaginaerum. She practically grew up listening to that album, that and balled of the Windfish.

I don't like calling her 'my' tulpa, I don't own her. She is the tulpa that lives with me in our body.

Hyde and I like listening to Daughtry, and 80's Classic Rock. He's a big 80's and all around rock fan!

He gets annoyed though and laughs at me when I'm listening to boy bands though, and teen pop.

Shira and I are both fans of all that classic rock, whatever decade, we like pretty much all of it. Shira used to be fond of pop music, but has grown out of that and likes it even less than I do, now. We also have a thing for dubstep, sometimes, if it's good.

There must be an equal balance of all types of music. An equal mix of every genre, mood, instrumental, spoken word, and everything else. This is to help prevent any biased moods (such as constantly being too happy or too depressed) or biased thoughts.

Does anyone have any specific reasons for why they choose the types of music they do? There ought be some DISCUSSION here.

Not sure about Celeste (she's only about a week old) but Chael seems to like what I like - pretty much anything but most rap, hip-hop, metal, screamo, and country older than the 90s - but he seems to lean towards pop-punk/emo like Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco, and he seems to enjoy dance-like music like Zedd, Neon Trees, and Cobra Starship.

I think this is because he tends to like happier, upbeat music with nice harmonizing with the instruments. Or something along those lines.

I like Shoegaze like My Bloody Valentine and Tokyo Shoegazer. I like most calm, atmospheric things that sound a little dreamy. It's hard to describe. My host likes that music too, but is also into metal stuff, which I don't really like.

Ok, Ill bite. I like metal because of the speed and energy that is in the music, it sometimes pushes me to go farther and faster in an attempt to keep up with it.

In ska its almost the opposite, it has a relaxing effect, but also some songs get me excited and bring me up when i am feeling down.

I like instrumental because of all the meticulously placed notes carry you along till you reach a wave that you float/fall over again and again till a new song comes on. This is the most relaxing for me.

I enjoy singing along because it makes me feel like I am contributing to the listening experience, plus tulpa likes it.

All in all I like listen to music because of its ability to effect our moods, depending on what I listen too.
