This is just to satisfy my curiosity, but, for those of you who meditate, what temperature do you prefer, and what temperature do you prefer to meditate in.

I know that I like the heat, and due to my biology being much more efficient at cooling than most, so I prefer temperatures between 27 and 43 degrees Celsius.

However I find it far easier to meditate in the cold, almost freezing.

I feel like two extremes and a middle(?) value aren't really ideal here, although including even more temperature options would make the poll enormous. Either way, my ideal temperature I would describe as "cool", and I don't necessarily think that fits lukewarm. With that said, I much prefer the cold to the heat, and am comfortable anywhere from 5 to 25 degrees Celsius, but when meditating, I definitely prefer something on the higher end of that scale. So I went with Cold and Lukewarm.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

Uh, sorry. While my example was extreme, I'd meant heat to encompass most anything above lukewarm, which is a the temperature most people can feel at least somewhat comfortable in, usually 22 degrees Celsius and temperature around it, while Cold was just the same thing on the other end of the spectrum.

Sorry.

Wow, Cold and Lukewarm with 75% of the votes. I prefer the cold, even being cold, to being slightly-too-hot. I don't think anyone likes being cold all the time, but I think some people dislike being hot so much they're willing to put quite a few degrees of buffer in the way. Same here.

For meditating, I just don't want to worry about the temperature. Cold makes it hard to forget about the body, although I can see some people saying the opposite. I shouldn't feel anything on my skin at all while meditating. Strangely, assuming all other conditions were right, I don't think being somewhat hot would interfere with my meditation. Your body slows down when it's too hot to try and cool itself, maybe that's why.

How can people stand temperatures that high. My host's tolerance range goes from 5 to 20. Sometimes I am worse. The number of times I ran out of bed due to overheating and slept on the basement floor is greater than hers.

Metal objects are your friend. They just wick the heat away.
