What are your favorite techniques and tips for Imposition?

Recommended Posts

Right now we're working on visual, but would love to hear your advice regarding other senses too since we will eventually be imposing those as well. Title explains the rest, Thanks.

There's nothing quite as good for touch imposition in my opinion than practicing daily with sitting nose-to-nose with each other, with your palms held up and pressed against each other. Concentrate on feeling each other's skin temperature, breath against each other's faces, each other's scents. Like any imposition work it starts slow at first, but practicing sitting together like this once a day, even just for a few minutes, has been amazing for me and Jamie. I can feel him very distinctly now.

Unfathomable. You know, without fathom.

Til you're higher then the clouds

I can see it in your soul

If you only knew your worth

The kinda love that you deserve

Every piece of you makes me whole[/align]

My advice: Don't impose your tulpa inside the body of, or within the same physical space as, a real world friend or loved one (overlapping or whatever). That is disturbing and disrespectful. Someone who's tulpa has bunny ears admitted doing this so that their loved one ended up with bunny ears sticking out of their head. This is misuse of tulpa imposition at its silliest.

Hey yo, where'd that come from? There's hardly anyone besides us with bunny-like tulpas that have talked about imposition. For your information, it does not feel good to impose yourself inside other people, it's weird. Tewi did that once a long time ago to make Lumi laugh (he almost did, in public too). But it was some random guy at our college campus we'd never seen before, and only for a moment. We don't randomly walk inside other people.. I don't think almost anyone does. I don't even know why you brought that up like it's a thing.

Turning that into a tip like - treat your tulpa like they really do occupy the space they're trying to impose in, 'cus it helps learn imposition. That usually means not having your tulpa walk through people or walls when they can help it, or yourself either of course. What else could help teach you to treat your imposed tulpa as real than to treat them as real?

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

It was Tewi, I knew it. That makes sense. Only once huh?

I imagine imposition gets very challenging with all of those obstacles, especially if they are moving. I would suggest trying in a room without people first, someplace quiet.

Minami has rabbit ears and a rabbit tail, does that count?

I replied to this question of his (the op's) on the /r/Tulpas subreddit, so I'll just drop the links I left out in my last post here,

(in the above guide, follow the parts that have to do with "reverse imposition")

These are my favorite guides from the site. Hope they help!

I dunno, have you talked about imposing them? Tewi making Lumi almost-laugh with imposition is a story they've told a couple times. Also, I see nothing wrong with walking through people if you want. That's like saying your tulpa shouldn't have bad manners, they can/not if they want.

Here's a short post we made back in December that talks about how we did imposition. Maybe you'll find some useful information there. The usual bit of advice that people give is to read as many guides on imposition (or anything, really) as possible to see what methods work best for you. Also, regular active sessions help a lot, but it seems like some people just expect things to happen on their own.
