CM October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 My oldest, Desmond, has been sleeping a lot lately. Almost ridiculously so, he falls asleep every few hours and seems tired almost all the time. L is getting worried, and it's kind of making me worry as well. Desmond doesn't see any reason to worry about it himself but it is starting to get in the way of every-day life. I find myself focusing mainly on L because Desmond just sleeps all the time even though he used to be the most active and talkative of them all. I'd like to hear your opinions about the situation, whether it's normal or not for him to sleep so much and if there's anything that I or the other tulpas can do about it. I'd like to get him back to his normal self as soon as possible. Corazón October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 Is the body getting enough sleep ? Maybe he feels this lack of sleep and it makes him try to fix it ? I will never be willing to be mean. Please tell me if I was, or if my English was wrong. I always want to learn, and understand more things ! Floh is my "host"
tulpa001 October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 1) We sleep a lot. But we are in a period of rapid learning. Also, this is something that seems to be a consequence of having two active thinkers in your skull at once. 2) Focus on him more. (But only if the degree of sleep is starting to get ridiculous.) Tell him things asleep or awake, get him to possess the body, have him play a video game. I think it is important to rule out depression, but beyond that, the only risk is he sleeps too much to maintain his own existence. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide. Stevie October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 There's this lecture Pleeb did a while back about how tulpas relate to neuroscience that I like. Basically in part of it, he says that tulpas are a neural connection that have to be reinforced to stick around. If your tulpa isn't doing much it's possible that they could regress, just like if you don't speak a language you learned much, you might get worse at it. This is kind of just conjecture, I think, but I don't think sleeping all the time is very good for anyone, whether they're a physical person or not. We're all gonna make it brah. CM October 6, 2016 Author Share October 6, 2016 I'm currently sleeping a pretty good amount, there was a long period of time recently where I slept wayyy too much myself, around 16 hours a day or so, but I don't know if Desmond could still be working through that? Nowadays I'm getting about 10 hours each night/day/whenever it is that I sleep, I don't have to leave home so I can sleep as much as I need to with no alarms and such. He's always liked sleeping and lazing about but he's never been this tired before and falling asleep during the day as well. About the depression though, I know he's battling with a fear of being abandoned or that other people we talk to think of him as an annoyance, something I used to have about 2 years ago when I was sinking into depression. It's not constantly on his mind but it surfaces every now and then. Maybe I should talk about it with him more? Anyways thank you for quick replies, it's always a great help to hear other people's thoughts, no matter what they might be. I'll try to focus on him more for now, keep him by my side more than usual. Maybe have L poke him with a stick when he starts to doze off or something xD Iro - He/they - 30th April 1997 - Host of the system - Speaker if there's no tag Desmond - He/him - 21st April 2014 L - He/him - 5th May 2014 Nevira - She/her - 14th December 2014 Misa - She/her - 5th December 2015 Roska - He/him - 22nd July 2019 Danyla - They/them - 13th July 2020 Asha - He/him - 13th June 2022
Guest Anonymous October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 He needs a pick me up just like a physical person. Does he drink coffee in the wonderland? It's worth a try at least or maybe even a wonderland energy drink? I am think of the power of suggestion, placebo effects, and all that.
CM October 6, 2016 Author Share October 6, 2016 That could be worth a shot, who knows :'D He's more of a tea person, don't know if black tea could do the trick. I personally don't drink caffeine drinks other than coke because it makes my irregular heartbeat more frequent and it feels nasty. But might as well give it a go. xD Iro - He/they - 30th April 1997 - Host of the system - Speaker if there's no tag Desmond - He/him - 21st April 2014 L - He/him - 5th May 2014 Nevira - She/her - 14th December 2014 Misa - She/her - 5th December 2015 Roska - He/him - 22nd July 2019 Danyla - They/them - 13th July 2020 Asha - He/him - 13th June 2022
Guest Anonymous October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 Well the nice thing is the wonderland coffee, tea or energy drink should only affect the tulpa, in theory. :-)
tulpa001 October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 I don't think virtual coffee will work. Actual coffee might, for various reasons, or actual tea for that matter, but I don't personally recommend taking drugs. It sounds to me like he might be experiencing emotional exhaustion, and possibly sliding into depression. The same things that work for that kind of thing on humans help tulpas too. Such as: -- Having an actual dream. If possible have him possess or switch, then go to sleep. -- Counseling and comforting. In addition, tulpas and hosts feel the wear of other systemmates on the brain when they are active. So, if you all relax, and maybe take some naps, he should bounce back faster, since that reduces your burnout level. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide. Guest Anonymous October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 I don't think virtual coffee will work. Why not? Is there a compelling reason why you think wonderland virtual coffee won't work? Normally disagreeing with me is a emotional caustic derailment drama trigger. How dare you? Oh alright FINE, it is your opinion and "what is true for you." Still ... why won't it work? Actual coffee might, for various reasons, or actual tea for that matter, but I don't personally recommend taking drugs. Sure it wakes up the whole brain. So naturally it should pep up a tulpa, since the tulpa shares the brain with the host. I would think so anyway. Okay, stuff I would have never thought of. You are forgiven Tulpa. (for now)
