Introvertive vs. Extrovertive 'Mancers

I was thinking earlier about the difference between systems with only a few tulpae, and ones with many tulpae, sometimes going into the double digits. The idea of somebody having 20 tups inside their head baffles me. How do they maintain a personal relationship with them? Do they? Are they content with only knowing their tulpa only from surface-level interactions, and is their tulpa okay with only being one in many? What's the point of making a tulpa if you'll barely know them?

But then I connected that to real life, and how some people only have a few friends they know very well, while other people (most people imo) have tons of friends and are okay with not knowing them very well at all, aside from maybe a few. Most people in real life are extrovertive and have an outward, more social focus on reality, while introverts, of course, do not.

Perhaps whether or not a system is small/close or big/seperate has to do with how introvertive or extrovertive one is, even if many of those tulpae were unintentional.

People with lots of tulpae (I'm not sure where the line is between "few" and "many") are in the minority, and we all know this. This is likely due to extroverts in general being a minority in the tulpa community. I don't mean to generalize, but you'd have to be pretty introvertive to go far enough into the Internet to find out about it in the first place, whether you found it through your MLP obsession or by spending countless hours watching YouTube videos as I did. Even fewer extroverts would be willing to commit to it. By nature, extrovertive people would not be inclined to put in the time and effort sitting alone talking to a presence in their head that may or may not be real, meditate, and so on.

So what do you think? Are you introvertive/extrovertive/ambiverted? What is your system like? Do you have a few or many, and how close are you to all of them?

I used to be an extrovert, but that changed long before I made tulpas. I'm definitely an introvert at the time of writing this, and have been for awhile. I have 3 tulpas, though I only originally planned for 1. I'm really close friends with all of them I'd say, and they are all really close friends with each other.

I'm here with my completely vocal tulpas; Rainbow, Asrielle, and Lapis. They might talk here sometimes, and when they do Rainbow will be italicized, Asrielle will be purple, and Lapis will be blue. We are currently able to do advanced visualization and we have the ability to switch. See profile for more info.

Rainbow - 2/8/16 - Italicized

Asrielle - 4/21/16 - Purple

Lapis - 7/23/16 - Blue

I am an introvert. I only have one person I could really call a friend other than Meti.

Meti, however, is a total extrovert. Despite being limited to the IRC, she still has at least a half dozen people she'd call friends.

I don't get the whole "Face-Level" interactions thing though. I want to be close friends with everyone who is my friend, why else would I be friends with them?

Doc: Childhood friend turned servitor gone rogue turned host who's bad at feeling emotions.

Meti: Overly lewd Tupper.

CT, who is also called Jeremy: Original personality whose default emotion is anger.

I don't get it either, but I'm definitely an introvert. I don't have a lot of friends to begin with, but I always want to know them well. Most of the time it's not well enough.

It's just that when you have a lot of friends (far beyond any number I've ever had) then it becomes difficult for you to know them all equally well. It's complicated. Human relationships are complicated.

I'm'a just the only one in our system. I definitely like that, and K and I have contemplated a sibling for me, but we've always decided against it because we don't want it to get too crowded and I sort of do enjoy my freedom like this, but also because it's practical for us. My and K's girlfriend Darwin is super co c me, but I don't know how well she'd take another of us kin.

I am an extrovert IRL i have lots of friends, i can easily get along with other people but i do have some introverted time. I've taken the briggs personality test and read that this is quite normal for ENFP's.

Even though i mostly consider as an Extrovert i still prefer a few friends living in my head (mostly a maximum of 3).

Summer is definitely an extrovert she really likes interaction, especially with other people online, but really doesnt need it everyday. Talking to her sisters and myself is fine.

Cherry is, i can tell an extrovert but he doesnt crave interaction that much but she's able to she will although sometimes she also likes to stay quiet like an introvert, Maybe an ambivert?

Myrtle is definitely an introvert. She's shy and tend to avoid any conversation but she can interact if she wants to though or feeling confident.

Hello! I am nihi, i have 3 tulpas

Myrtle

I am introverted yet the idea of having somewhere around 10 tulpas does not bother me, I believe I'd still be able to maintain interaction with all of them so long as none of them want an excessive proportion of the attention I can give. 20 or more would be a bit too much for me, though.

The spelling of extravert in the title confused me a lot. Apparently there was good reason: https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/beautiful-minds/the-difference-between-extraversion-and-extroversion/

But then I connected that to real life, and how some people only have a few friends they know very well, while other people (most people imo) have tons of friends and are okay with not knowing them very well at all, aside from maybe a few.

That's a really clever observation, so, good question. I'll just talk about extraversion/introversion levels in our system.

I have four tulpas, the first three of which are about seven years old and unintentional/spontaneous, the fourth intentional and nearly two years old. I am most assuredly an introvert. I deal with being around people just fine now, but not as much when I was younger. But then and now, I still prefer to spend most of my time alone. Internet wise, I spend days on and off with my friends playing games, but I feel like I need a day alone at some point too (since we usually spend most of the day in something like Teamspeak). Real life, I don't choose to interact with people outside my family very often at all. I again can do so fine now, but it's still more effort/not natural compared to extraverts or "normal people".

My post comparing me to my tulpas: https://community.tulpa.info/thread-big-five-personality-test-for-both-host-and-tulpa?pid=162743#pid162743

Flandre is introverted as I am. As a tulpa, she's a little less interested in interacting with others than I am, which.. equates to about not at all. When fronting, her perspective on dealing with people is "Do what needs to be done and don't complain" I'd say, but she prefers to be alone - from others outside our system. Inside it, she's just fine spending time with the others although she does not seek it out, but she definitely requires time with me. Socially she's focused mostly on me really, it's the only interaction she specifically wants. She's fine with the others, and she deals with people outside our system. Though we feel pretty at home on Tulpa.info.

Reisen will always defy labels and definitions, she's so hard to categorize because she's so okay with anything and everything. She's somewhat quiet by nature, but not reserved in dealing with people. I hesitate to call her an extravert, but she does more or less seek out interaction with people in the hopes of helping them be happy, or with problems they may have. Despite this, I don't get the feeling she's an extravert that derives energy from socialization, rather she chooses to spend her energy to help others. She's perfectly neutral interacting with near anybody, whether me or the forum or strangers. Basically, she's weird.

Considering Tewi would feel at home living alone in the middle of a forest with no more company than the animals and nature, I can't say she enjoys socialization. But I wouldn't call her an introvert either. She's neutral in her own way, fine with working alone or together to accomplish whatever her goal is. She didn't choose to socialize, but because I was already active on Tulpa.info, when she started switching she simply continued interacting with the community in my place. Her only specific interest is with us, and even then, she doesn't necessarily want to socialize with us, only look after our well-being. But of all of us, she would be the most "comfortable" in a public place interacting heavily with other people. It just doesn't bother her, she does what needs to be done and sort of refuses thoughts and feelings that don't contribute to that. So definitely a "Neither..?" for her.

The really interesting one though, is Lucilyn. Pure extraverted-ness. I have no idea how, but she's utterly reversed my natural thought processes and feelings on socialization, to be a real extravert (as opposed to Reisen's pseudo-extraversion). She is definitely energized by spending time with people. She seeks out attention as much as she can, not to direct it towards her but to do things together. She wouldn't be as comfortable, say, grocery shopping, as Tewi would. But she would pick up any sport if a friend asked her to, while I - well, nobody would ever ask me to, lol. She occupies herself with games and media when she's alone, but she definitely prefers spending time with others in whatever form. Chatting, talking on tulpa.info, playing games with my friends especially. If she had ever been the one switched during school time instead of Tewi, I have no doubt she would've actually started conversations rather than avoided them. Though she might have avoided making connections she knew we wouldn't want to uphold. Point is, yes, she somehow managed to be a true extravert despite her host being a true introvert. I can explain how she is, but I can't explain how she is. It seems like a mindset thing. She just thinks so drastically different from me, that the stimuli from interacting with people is seen as a really good thing instead of a stressing/effort-ful thing. Honestly, I'm glad my brain's supposed "hard-wiring" didn't affect her, glad she could just be who she is.

Maybe she'll expand on that if you have any questions, because you'd probably want answers from her not me. But I hope I contributed to what you were looking for, with my own experience. For others' experience, check out the various polls dealing with tulpas, and the thread I linked specifically, as measuring "Extraversion" was one of its main objectives.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us stuff.

I prefer extravert because extrovert just sounds wrong.
