Phi August 5, 2012 Share August 5, 2012 Hallucinations are something that is caused without a stimulus. Placebo Effects have stimulus, they just don't actually do anything. Both involve your mind thinking something is there that isn't.
Sock August 5, 2012 Share August 5, 2012 I wouldn't say so. It's a wee bi too advanced to be a placebo. Especially when you hear your tupper talk to you when you're not even paying attention to it. I've had multiple occasions when mine either called me, or was chattering when I was paying her no mind. Sock Cottonwell's Sketchbook, Journal, and Ask thread. Peace
Fenrir August 6, 2012 Share August 6, 2012 Reason why a tulpa is not a placebo A placebo ( /pləˈsiboʊ/; Latin placēbō, “I shall please”[2] from placeō, “I please”) is a simulated or otherwise medically ineffectual treatment for a disease or other medical condition intended to deceive the recipient A much fitter description lies with the definition of a hullicination A hallucination, in the broadest sense of the word, is a perception in the absence of a stimulus. Hope this helps
