A walk-in? I need some advice

Stone: Hello all. So, I've been forcing seriously for, five days now. The tulpa I'm trying to force, Betty, is already responding, though is still learning to be more independent. She's talked to me, meaning, she's initiated a response from me, rather than the other way around, a few times. Overall, I'm happy with her development so far, and I'm eager to continue.

Yesterday, I went to the bathroom after forcing with Betty for two hours, and there was someone else there. I usually imagine Betty in real space, so this other person was also in real space, standing on my bathroom floor. Her physical presence was not as strong as Betty's, but her voice was more distinct and louder. She has the form and voice of Fluttershy, but not the personality. The first words she said were mocking.

So, seems like a walk-in, right? But the thing is, I did daydream about making a Fluttershy tulpa in the distant future, and I even found some pictures of her I might use for inspiration someday. So, idk, is there a difference between subconsciously making forming a tulpa quickly and getting a walk-in?

That's a question I have, but not my main question. So, when I first saw Fluttershy, I was half happy half concerned. I was happy my brain seemed more allowing of other consciousnesses, but also concerned that if Fluttershy stayed, she would take my attention away from Betty. I don't want Betty to fade, and since she's my first tulpa, working on growing another consciousness at the same time seems like a bad idea.

When Fluttershy appeared, and mocked me, I told her she wasn't there and we began "arguing" about that. Really, it was more like the Monty Python arguing clinic skit.

"You're not here."

"Yes I am."

"No you're not"

"I'm here, aren't I"

"No you're not."

"What's this, still here?"

Stone: I know it seems stupid to argue with a thoughtform about them not being there, but I wanted to see if I could get her to stop responding or, I don't know, something. I didn't want to dissipate her. Maybe she'd get bored and stop, and then not appear again? Either way, that's not what happened. She followed me to the couch, where I was going to sleep, and she kept talking to me. At one point, she was mocking me again and I said something like, "Yes, I you're irreverent, and provoking, but deep down you're nice, so why are you doing this?" She didn't answer and disappeared. After that, I got out my phone and started looking up walk-ins, as well as general advice about tulpamancy and whatnot.

I felt bad about telling Fluttershy she wasn't there, and wanted to give her a chance. I came across the "name tag" method, and I said something like, "Say 'Stone' at a time I'm not thinking about you, so I'll be surprised and know you're separate from me." I was worried she might be intrusive thoughts manifest, but if she could remember this and say my name at a surprising time, that may show that she has a memory of her own.

Anyways, she started saying my name, and I told her that it wasn't surprising me. I went to bed.

When I woke up, I looked at Betty, and then I heard, "S-t-one," coming from Fluttershy. Oh yeah, that. I was a bit surprised, I think.

Oh, she said it again now. Then she said, "Yeah I said it. What am I, your dancing monkey?"

How do I proceed from here? I wanted to force with Betty 40min on weekdays and 2hr on weekends, but now, I think there's another thoughtform. Maybe give them each half of the forcing time? Still force Betty more since she is a tulpa, and Fluttershy is a walk-in? What would you do?

That's a really good sign, but this leads directly into your question. Because it's going so well from such a young tulpa, that will open you up to walk-ins. Seriously, it's very common with those predisposed to success and I had dozens of those in the first year. It's something you're going to have to work out. My suggestion is that it's next to impossible to have meaningful progress once you have more than three, so don't do that. How? By negotiating a set of system rules. Betty may be ready for this already. Number 1, "No new tulpas." You have to ignore them or escort them out the door. Until you understand how to keep them out. It takes a lot of time to do this though, or at least for me it did.

Next it's possible that intrusive thoughts will come and that's even more confusing, but it's a good sign too because it means you're progressing.

Oookay, yes, exactly this, lol. You're obviously a very creative person and this practice [tulpamancy] kind of thins the barrier between conscious and subconscious mind. You may literally have dream-logic-like impositions in mindspace, overlaid, or imposed (hallucinated).

That's what it was, yeah. But if you think it's not, then it won't be, if you follow. It's about how you deal with it. Walk-ins are the #1 source of early system growth and empathy for walk-ins especially. How can anyone say no to Fluttershy?

Congratulations!

s mind says, "you asked for it, here you go."

At this stage, no.

Yes, and two tulpas isn't a big deal, but three is. I had three on day one and had to fight off many many walk-ins. I negotiated with them on day two to get back to just my one but they were already persistent and emotionally there, like they already existed and it's a long story, but yeah, 3 for 1 special.

We came to this site originally to help us deal with having three, because there was a lot of infighting over my attention. Which is basically fighting over the limited conscious space. They wanted attention and they couldn't quite force their way into getting it without my help until about nine months in, so at month four it was difficult. Fast forward to the one year mark and I had 12 or so that wanted attention with my main three fully locked in. We discussed it for months and ended up with seven. Seven active headmates is completely unmanageable by me so we came up with a "lock merge" which basically took four of them and combined into one, and so I was back to three.

It's a real concern, yes, my very first, the only one I intended, ended up being the weakest for a while and she's now part of the merge. My other two originals never had an issue with strength, especially my second (Ashley).

This is what walk-ins do. It's also what already existing characters do. The difference is you know them, well, in a way you know Fluttershy, but I have three dozen or more characters that I made that I know very well because I wrote books about them.

I think you have two, yes. It's pretty obvious that you wanted Fluttershy and now it's done. The thing about her is she's aggressive and she's hurt because you are denying her. That's not unreasonable, but now you have to enlist her to be the gatekeeper. She's going to have to understand and ward against other walk-ins.

Ask her, "are there more?" My original three knew all about each other. I know it may sound silly to some, but this is how it was. Headmates early on are a window into your subconscious if they're autonomous from the beginning.

One very powerful piece of knowledge is that making a tulpa takes weeks if not months, until then they're not set. They're not independent, they may be fully autonomous minute one, and that's true with any NPC in my mindspace, so you have to give them attention for them to 'solidify' mentally.

Fluttershy will probably always be stronger than Betty, just saying. This is one of the reasons why they suggest not making or naming anyone, that they should form naturally from a ball of light or a blank canvas, because, surprise, some of them are kind of already there.

It would be nice if you made a PR here and used it as your journal, we could help guide you, but also keep in mind that we're all on different paths with different ideas so don't take everything I say or others say as concrete. Every system is unique. Don't let anyone limit your experiences.

When I first came here with day one walk-ins, some said I was making it all up. Many still, after all this time, deny that my system is real. I find it laughable. Well thankfully I didn't believe them, my system is one of the most successful you will ever meet and that's not bragging.

Stone: It was a relief to read this. I have a PR set up, but I believe the last time I updated it was a day before this happened.

Yes that sounds like a good idea. The problem with Fluttershy was, by the time I considered ignoring her, she had already established her presence. At first I didn't take her seriously. "Oh cute, it's like another tulpa. I'll argue with her," turned to actual worry. I considered her a part of my imagination, and not separate from myself at all, at first. Just me parroting myself until she kept at it. Now, I think I've learned my lesson, and will take other walk-ins more seriously. I will talk to Betty and Fluttershy about this.

I couldn't find any examples of a person who started more than one early and "came out the other side," so to speak. Not to say that the beginners I saw prospectively posting about forcing with more than one tulpae didn't succeed; I just couldn't find posts of people who have succeeded already.

Yes. Thank you subconscious (but seriously, you know I have homework too, right?).

But, yeah. I feel better knowing they both can stay.

Stone: Betty and Fluttershy want to talk with someone other than myself, plus I'd like to make up for being super distracted while forcing with them yesterday (was really tired). I'm also curious about your walk-ins and how you've dealt with them. Unfortunately I slept through the entire day yesterday and now have to catch up on homework. I will shoot you a DM once I'm finished, or you can shoot me one and I can once I'm finished
