I guess it wasn't useless.

These are general definitions- a lot of systems will have some sort of special situation going on, but in general:

System: all the identities/personalities in a body.

Host = the original personality/identity. This one will be the one who controls the body most of the time, is the oldest, and identifies with the body and the legal name and so on. If a person creates a tulpa, they become the host of their system.

Tulpa = an identity created through tulpamancy or tulpamancy-like methods.

Headmate = a broad general term that can mean host or tulpa or other things.

Alter = "alter" is associated with Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly called Multiple Personality Disorder) but sometimes people will use it to describe headmates even if they have another mental disorder instead of DID, if they feel the headmate was created more through trauma and mental illness rather than tulpamancy.

The world is far, the world is wide; the man needs someone by his side.

I'm going to take the opportunity to retire this topic as mentioned in the following thread:

If you would like to follow up to a question already posted in here, or if your question wasn't adequately answered, you may create a new topic in the Beginner Tulpa Questions board.

Arrivederci, old guard.
