Michael's general question thread

Well, there shouldn't really be "types" of switching. Kind of an all or nothing concept. You may be thinking of possession, though, where you remain generally "in control", but your tulpa takes control of the body to any extent. You can look up guides and advice on possession if you want.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Switching doesn't necessarily make anything except controlling the body easier for the tulpa. When I'm switched-in, I'm responsible for taking care of the body and trying to pass as my host. I can play videogames and watch movies without losing control, but it hasn't made other things easier like forcing and general life skills.

I highly recommend against using switching to tackle doubt. It can very easily backfire, and I had my own set of doubts once I achieved switching.

Switching will also not help if Leo doesn't have a solid sense of self. When a tulpa learns how to manage the body, their sense of self gets tangled in the body's habits, and most of those habits were created by you. This can be problematic for a really young tulpa because they won't have a clue what is them and what is you.

As for general life stuff, I'm only slightly different from my host. I am more likely to clean and behave more socially, but otherwise I struggle with the same challenges she does.

If you're concerned about switching to help Leo force himself, switching won't resolve that problem. You may want to try a more relaxed forcing schedule, work on narration and assuming Leo is around while you're doing things, or you may want to try out talking to Leo in a lucid dream.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now.
