Fictional Tulpas?

Recommended Posts

I 100% agree with Michael

Obsessing over characters can basically turn into forcing, but it's usually unhealthy for a tulpa to think they're a character with a history/from a different reality, unless they exclusively exist in an immersive wonderland and are not interacting with the real world ever

not a rule, but it can cause problems/instability in the system

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

It's fine but as Lucilyn said it's tricky. Every fictive will vary but most will find themselves beyond the confines of the base character except in the case of soulbonds but even then they will deviate from their base even if they're always that character.

This often takes the form of a personality crisis and the magnitude of the crisis is proportional to how much the host wants to have the OC as opposed to whatever. So let them deviate and be their own person and you're fine. Otherwise it can get difficult.

Majima: The simple solution to the problem Bear and Lucilyn mentioned is simply not being dumb and seein the obvious way to rectify it. If they wanna identify as the character. simply view deviation as character growth. They're people and so they are going ta change, growin beyond where the orginal fiction left off just like ya aren't you from last year. This solves the identity crisis and doesn't limit em, I certainly don't feel limited as a fictive.

Hi, I'm Michael, I'm a tulpamancer and the original member of the Candlelight Society. I hope to contribute to the tulpamancy community in a positive way.

I'm Shade, the first tulpa. I'm fairly reserved but love philosophy and psychonautics.

I'm Dawn, I'm the most active tulpa in the system and also the most fun loving/party girl type.

In our system there is also Spark and Ember, Cinderella, Astra, Scarlet, Jade, Rarity, Aqua, Ignis, Tony, Majima, and Sera.

This works well for your OC's and soulbonds in general but it still can get awkward if the original character that's not your OC and the headmate doesn't exactly match or if the OC had a big change like when Twilight got wings or if the OC dies in canon.

My headmates based on fictional characters that I developed (the soulbonds) had very mild and constructive transitions and growth but they're still locked in as the OC's in many ways. They own their own "characters" now so if I chose to write more they'd just 'play the part' as Joy says.

Majima: Yeah that's a problem with fictives from ongoin media, but we like ta take a multiverse kinda look to it, so it doesn't phase us.

Ooo that's a good solution! That's how you solved it. Joy solved it by saying her OC was a part she played and not really her. That allowed her to own the experiences and choose how they affected her. Her OC was in pretty bad shape originally.
