I am extremely new to all of this, and after reading some guides on how to create one I'm curious as to know whether or not creating a tulpa that is an exact replica of someone I know is a good idea or not. I mean I won't really have to make an entire personality for them, and I also won't have to nag the irl person that much anymore. Your thoughts?

The whole thing is a moral gray area for me; I think there's a big difference between creating a tulpa that is inspired by/similar to a person and just straight up creating a tulpa clone of that person, especially if it's someone you know and interact with IRL because that could create awkwardness for both of you as well as your tulpa. So yeah, I'd recommend against it, and possibly consider creating a tulpa that is "inspired" by the person rather than one who is an "exact replica".

In most cases I would call the practice "Unhealthy". It's not good to rely on a tulpa to fill the role of a real person that still exists in your life, for many reasons.

But if you're making a tulpa based on someone who doesn't even know you, like a celebrity, or based on someone you're likely to never meet again, like a childhood friend that moved away, then I think it's fine, if  you make it clear they are not actually that person. Best if you just entirely drop the real life counterpart connotations entirely, so that they never deal with an identity crisis, and that you never put impossible expectations to fulfil on them.

Zero percent problem in any case where a tulpa you create is just inspired by someone you knew, though. It's just when you copy one-for-one that there's lots of iffy stuff to avoid.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
