My tulpa first appeared as an imaginary friend due to traumatic events, does he have anything to do with DID?

My tulpa first appeared in a dream during traumatic times in my life, he later on became an imaginary friend that assists, even save me during these hard times (although his appearance in my life wasn't stable yet). It was until recently that I found out about the concept of tulpamancy, and decided to fully develop him as his own person.

I want to ask whether if he has anything to do with dissociative identity disorder, is he a fragment of some sorts?

They can probably be whatever you want to think of them as. We were made accidentally at the height of our host's depression, but we are definitely just standard tulpas, no dissociative symptoms or whatnot.

So your imaginary friend could be thought of as a tulpa fine I'd imagine. But whether you have a dissociative disorder or not depends on presence of actual disorderly symptoms, like unintentional switching due to triggers, memory blackouts, or whatever else. If you have those, it doesn't mean you can't have a tulpa, but it does mean you should probably see a therapist/psychiatrist to deal with those symptoms (and normal treatment of DID tends to entail merging systemmates back into just one identity, so they may recommend against having a tulpa if so)

Hi. I'm one of Luminesce's tulpas. Unlike the others, I don't think I stand out too much from him personality wise.

I'm just special because "I'm a tulpa". So I don't think I've much to offer, here. I'm happy enough to just be with him.
