Hush October 19, 2012 Share October 19, 2012 The short version of it all is this: My tulpa's form isn't exactly connected to her mind, she seems to exist as a voice, and the body is a servitor that she can puppet, but isn't really comfortable with it. Anyway, during a terrible fever a week ago, I was halucinating her imposed, comforting me, helping me through the pain. She claims it was indeed her, but I seriously doubt that, I think she believes it, but I think given her relationship with her form, a reworked perspective of my memories. I guess I'm just looking for opinions from others?
fennecgirl October 19, 2012 Share October 19, 2012 If she says it was her, I don't see why it wouldn't have been her. If it wasn't her, then she should know it wasn't her. NED October 19, 2012 Share October 19, 2012 You are gonna be slow at this if you do not beleive Name - Silver Form - Harpy Sentience - fully sentient Personality - Playful, cheerful, enthusiastic, chilled Smell - Baileys Stage - Narration and imposition
Hush October 19, 2012 Author Share October 19, 2012 I know that she's sentient, but given a high fever, and no prior attempts at imposition, Her issues with her form to begin with, and constructed memories having precident in tulpas, why is my reconstruction of the events unlikely? fennecgirl October 19, 2012 Share October 19, 2012 Trust us, it was her. It also wouldn't hurt to apologize to her for doubting her. constructed memories having precident in tulpas Really? What makes you say that? I don't think I've ever heard anything about that before. I come out of hibernation once in a blue moon. They/them pronouns, please. Hush October 19, 2012 Author Share October 19, 2012 I've heard about it on IRC, someone's tulpa had memories of very early creation in which it had its personality before personality work was done, they mutually concluded that it must have been constructed. fennecgirl October 19, 2012 Share October 19, 2012 I think that's a bit different. Memories from that early on in creation, I would assume, are like early childhood memories. Memories that don't get forgotten may become distorted or even be entirely false (or so I've heard). That was probably a similar case with that tulpa who had memories of very early creation. Purlox October 19, 2012 Share October 19, 2012 I've heard about it on IRC, someone's tulpa had memories of very early creation in which it had its personality before personality work was done, they mutually concluded that it must have been constructed. That tulpa could easily have those memories, because tulpae might have personality just by you knowing what personality you want to give them without actually working on it. Frosty October 19, 2012 Share October 19, 2012 Well, not to be the downer here, but memories are very subjective and inaccurate in humans, so it is possible the same goes for tulpae. Which is why a tulpa's accuracy as far as helping you recall memories goes is only reliable if you yourself remember it correctly. I have had instances where I was either talking to or imposing April when I was not at all sober that I doubt were actually her, so I know where you're coming from. If you can't 100% believe it was her, just say "maybe it was, maybe it wasn't" and move on. Maybe is far less harmful than outright denial.
