Pronos May 29, 2012 Author Share May 29, 2012 I should have probably made an "other" group, along with "Nonsex". "Nonsex" would be for things that legitimately have no sexually-defining characteristics, or people that don't identify with any particular sex, and "other" would be so I don't have to add every permutation of transgender/hermaphrodite to be politically correct. But this poll isn't really an ultra-serious thing, so w/e
Ned Bigby May 29, 2012 Share May 29, 2012 I think over time more girls will join us, but they will always be a minority on a board like this. On dreamviews for example, a lucid dreaming site, there was pretty much an equal balance, because it was about dreams. Tulpae just aren't a girly thing it seems. It might have something to do with where we're advertised. Most boards on 4chan have a strong male majority. (the exceptions being /cm/, /cgl/, /u/, and /y/) If this idea was pushed in more female-dominated sites like dreamwidth, livejournal, and tumblr, then I bet we'd be wading in estrogen. Daemians, soulbonders, and multiples, show that girls and women are just as interested in "imaginary" companions as the rest of us.
Guest May 29, 2012 Share May 29, 2012 You should have asked what the gender identity and sexuality of the maker and of the tulpa are. I'm willing to bet in 90% or more of the cases, they are opposite.
Din May 29, 2012 Share May 29, 2012 Male, female. Anima, animus, and all that psychological jazz. Wow, I don't think we even have a single female on this board.
Mongoose May 29, 2012 Share May 29, 2012 >nonsex it's like I'm really on tumblr I love you. Gender is just so mainstream. Also, it is of my belief that the majority of the great majority exists because foreveralones, if you couldn't determine that yourself. Spoiler alert: I'm one of them. Ned Bigby May 29, 2012 Share May 29, 2012 I'm from /a/. Given the state /a/'s been in for the past few years I don't now if that's something you should be admitting.

Confirmation bias, it really isn't THAT bad, you just notice the shit posting more than you notice the quality discussion.
TulpaCouple May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 Female, making a male tulpa. Though that won't necessarily be a defining characteristic about him, I just enjoy male voices. Fiance is male making a male tulpa.
