Why can't I hear my tulpa talking unless I'm focused on him?

Recommended Posts

It's been more the 2 years with my Tulpa, and I still can't hear him talk or say his opinion unless I ask him or talk to him first... and that made me doubt more that I'm just unconsciously parroting, I asked for help on my situation a lot but I never asked here, and honestly none of the answers helped me... I do force a lot and talk to my tulpa a lot... I try to keep our time active together even tho it's getting harder to find something to do together, but as soon as I stop everything stops and it's like I don't even have a tulpa, so what is my situation? Do I need to do more forcing? More talking? What exactly can I do to be able to hear him without me focusing on him... and he does answer me all the time when I ask... but most of the time I feel like I'm just parroting. Please help... I don't want to give up.

It's like that for us also. If my host consciousness isn't asking me something or actively thinking about me, I'm essentially dormant. (I don't mind, but it bothers my host consciousness sometimes).

I think that's just the way it works. I don't automatically pop into our head without something triggering my presence. Likewise, if I'm using my brain for something intense, like examining photographs to decide which ones to toss and which ones to keep, my host consciousness will be dormant unless I ask them about something.

Things have gotten better just because my host consciousness has developed habits of asking me stuff throughout the day. What do I think of this? Wasn't that funny (in response to something we saw on TV)? What do you think of that story (about something we read in the news)? Whenever we get in the car, they ask me if I want to drive. So I've kind of woven myself into our day.

But I don't think it means you're doing something wrong.

Another thing my host consciousness does that helps is that if they're asking me an especially thought provoking question, they'll quiet their use of our mind so I can think with it. Essentially I'm thinking in "Lavender mode", using our mind the way I would rather than the way my host consciousness would.

If you're worried about parroting, maybe ask your tupla, "was that you or was that me?" My host consciousness does that all the time. It's almost always me!

Also, I know this is hard, but try not to worry. Try to just enjoy your tulpa as a friend and companion. That might help. Good luck 💗

This is actually very common, even for experienced tulpamancers. Try not to be too hard on yourself and trust that your tulpa is there. And I agree with everything Lavender said. 😊

Do they have an inner wonderland? Maybe they just enjoy being in there or just go dormant if you’re not actively engaging with them. You can help them create an inner wonderland. We use favourite film or video game worlds/locations …get pictures off google to look at and imagine your Tulpa living there…maybe if they don’t want to live there they will let you know they don’t like that and what they’d prefer.

Video games have helped us alot in particular ones with character creation so they can show me what they want to look like/or think they look like, lots of people use those Avatar apps just to make images of their Tulpa but I prefer video games as I’ve found my Tulpa’s can eventually sync with the body and take over control of the hands so they’re controlling the character in the story, they love it then to be able to go on an adventure, often then they create ‘holodeck programs’ for their favourite places so they can still visit them even when I don’t have the energy to play. They can send me images to make me laugh or if I’m really tired and need to sleep they will disconnect from me to let me rest then show me what they’ve been doing after I’ve rested.
