ColdLemons April 7 April 7 After getting into lucid dreaming, I decided to start trying to create a Tulpa. I started very recently and was wondering if lucid dreaming about your tulpa would help develop it and help you visualize and communicate better with your tulpa.
Flandre April 7 April 7 I would imagine so, but the tricky thing is that it's usually very hard to keep someone else stable-ly "them" in dreams, especially if you don't already know them very well. While I'm sure it could fuel development and interaction in waking life, it's probably important to strictly understand the dream content as just dreams, because unwanted events & changes can happen in dreams that would not be good to consider to have "actually happened" for the tulpa. But again, as imagination fuel or a fun thing you guys try to do together, it should be fine (if you can achieve it lol.. Making specific people appear and stay-themselves generally requires strong mastery of lucid dreaming) I also think this doesn't develop actual tulpamancy skills, like the ability to communicate with your tulpa, rather it instills you with the belief that your tulpa already exists in your mind and that you should be able to talk, which does help the development process a lot. The dreaming part isn't required (and can be iffy for the reasons I said) though, we often tell people to think of their tulpa as "existing and wanting/trying to respond" when first developing them. Not because they necessarily are (and they will likely say some wishy-washy/non-meaningful stuff super early on that they can later tell you they didn't mean), but because thinking as if they are simply causes your brain to develop a tulpa quickly and more easily. So yeah, results will vary with lucid dreaming, but as long as you both understand dream content won't always accurately represent your waking intentions/feelings, it can definitely be a fun thing to do together if you're skilled enough. I don't think I'd try to pursue mastering lucid dreaming just to develop a tulpa though, that's really unnecessary and will probably be disappointing as they aren't technically related skill-wise. Just having an idea of a person already - and especially, believing they already exist in your mind - happen to be beliefs that speed up the process. Hi. I'm one of Luminesce's tulpas. Unlike the others, I don't think I stand out too much from him personality wise. I'm just special because "I'm a tulpa". So I don't think I've much to offer, here. I'm happy enough to just be with him. Ask us stuff - https://community.tulpa.info/thread-ask-lumi-s-tulpas
ReallyArtificial April 7 April 7 Seconding what Flandre said, results will vary. My experience was kind of the opposite of what you're looking for. The more developed my tulpas became, the more frequently I dreamed about them, and the easier it got for me to summon them into a dream once I'm lucid. I don't think the lucid dreaming necessarily helped their development, except maybe giving me a better basis for visualization. I've found my visualization is a little better when I draw upon the memory of how my tulpas looked when I actually saw them in my dreams.
