What is the forum's stance on killing tulpas?

Is it true that the buddhist monks (Tibetan) take years to create their tulpas and then dissipate them when they don't need them anymore?

I've heard that too. I think its true and I personally find it immoral. Granted they viewed tulpas differently than us.

Maybe they think it's bad to be attached to anything.

K: Now, now, it's buddhist monks we're talking about, not your average teenagers. This "dissipation" probably happened when both the host and the tulpa agreed that there was nothing more to add to their relationship. The tulpa had fulfilled his/her role in the monk's life, and the monk had given the tulpa everything he could give. It's not a bad way to disappear, actually I believe it's the best way to disappear ever...

While I was rushing downward to the lowland,

Before mine eyes did one present himself,

Who seemed from long-continued silence hoarse.

When I beheld him in the desert vast,

“Have pity on me,” unto him I cried,

“Whiche’er thou art, or shade or real man!”

There are stories of monks dissipating in a flash of rainbow light. Not a bad way to go either.

KHost: Why don't you keep him as a servitor. After all, if he came back it means that you like him.

K: I love you.

He merged with Rainbow Dash, so problem solved...I think *ponders the ethical implications/real-world parallels of this*

KHost: If he's fine, if you're fine, and if RD's fine, then it's fine.

How do they become strange? Are they difficult to live with the longer they are around?

Personality quirks and odd habits. I think it comes more from interacting with almost exclusively with one person for a long period than from anything specific to being a tulpa.

Not so much dying, more like reaching a higher state of existence as a non-entity. Either way, the disappearing in a flash of light is a claim to be taken with a bucket of salt.
