Laurora February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 My tulpa (currently nameless, says she's still thinking up one) has told me she dislikes speech, and usually refuses to speak. She prefers to communicate through thoughts, emotions, and facial expressions/body language. She says "Why speak when you can use telepathy?" Her mind voice is pretty much identical to mine, except on rare occasions when she'll use random voices. My visualization isn't too bad, but not the best. It's getting better, though, and I can tell when she's nodding, shaking her head, or shrugging. She'll sometimes send me mental images of her facial expressions. I'm terrible at picking up on body language, because of Asperger's, and if she keeps this up, communication will be very limited. How can I encourage her to speak? She can change her voice so it's different to mine, she just doesn't know what voice she prefers.
ThatOneGuy February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 Hmmm...interesting. It's odd that your tulpa has taken up such things as communicating through body language and facial expressions when you have a known disorder that makes it hard to discern such things, unless you take in the idea of subconscious ideals. Perhaps your tulpa is attempting to better you or help you with your disorder as a result of those ideals being in place during creation. I've next to no experience with Asperger's, so I can't offer you much advice on how to interpret your tulpa's communication better except asking her to talk because you can't understand her most of the time otherwise. Chupi February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 You can try explaining to her what you just told us. Still, telepathy is quite effective and at many times better than speech. It takes some getting used to, obviously. Mine mostly try to use speech, but send raw ideas behind them if they can't phrase it properly. They'll say just a few words that wouldn't make any sense whatsoever, but behind that they've put an idea. So, I suddenly know exactly what they were talking about. I don't actually perceive the raw idea; it feels like just knowing. Most likely you'll end up with a compromise. She will speak some, and you'll learn to better understand her expressions and thoughts. She may actually be able to help you with your Asperger's by getting you more used to reading body language. She could even be doing this partially because she can see you need the practice. After that, I asked her to speak as well as use body language so I can learn what she means. Once I learn, then she can communicate however she wants. EDIT: More responses are welcome. I'm curious to see if this had happened with other tulpae and what other people's opinions/theories are. EDIT 2: Still not speaking. She says I should try speaking in front of a mirror so she can see how my mouth moves when I speak, so she learns how her mouth should move when she speaks when I see her. Problem is I have a lisp, and she might move her mouth like mine when I say "s".
Chupi February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 Perhaps you should watch movies with her that have a lot of talking in them.
