WhiiteRussian June 21, 2012 Share June 21, 2012 Do you speak to your tulpa when you are in the visualization/touch/smell phase?
Andrew June 21, 2012 Share June 21, 2012 I speak to my Tulpa whenever I can. "What did you do today?" "Oh, you know, got called a hater by a schizophrenic's marijuana-fueled wolf hallucination." "Righteous!" I call her Philos. My BLOG is updated daily.
Chupi June 21, 2012 Share June 21, 2012 Yes. At the very least, you should tell your tulpa what you're doing and why, so she isn't confused. G|d30n June 21, 2012 Share June 21, 2012 I spoke to my tulpa most of the time through forcing, and found it especially necessary at the touch phase since she was already showing some signs of awareness then, which made that whole step feel awkward without offering some explanation. Progess on my tulpa, Lauren. Lauren's survey and stylometric test.

G|d30n June 21, 2012 Share June 21, 2012 Personally, I did't have much trouble with that. Once you get the form well sorted out and consistent, it doesn't require anymore focus than looking at someone and talking to them. If you're having trouble focusing in the early stages of visualizations though, you could always hold off on multitasking until you're comfortable trying. Lauren has since told me that some of my ramblings and random thoughts as a result of multitasking forcing and narration were actually more confusing than helpful at the time early on, but they did give her something to reference and figure out as she grew more sentient and more developed, letting her stimulate her mind and figure things out at her leisure. It actually made it so that, when she started to become sentient, she was doing some of the work in the downtime when I wasn't doing anything. Progess on my tulpa, Lauren. WhiiteRussian June 22, 2012 Author Share June 22, 2012 Another thing I have noticed is that I'm trying to do all of the steps simultaneously. I don't know if it is counter productive but I cannot imagine any other way. I basically visualize my tulpa in front of me lying on a block facing up. I describe his personality to him (You are free-spirited etc) while simultaneously visualizing the body and details of clothes and shit while touching him and smelling the scent. One thing I noticed is that when I visualize this way, the block that my tulpa is lying down on tends to spin a lot. I'm not sure if it qualifies as parroting because I'm not actually making the tulpa move, just the platform supporting him. Also, yes, my tulpa is Male. I could not imagine trusting a female to my inner subconscious. Misogyny 101. I don't watch anime/mlp so I really have no reason.
Chupi June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 Do you have any trouble multitasking between visualizing and talking? Not at all. Actually, narrating her appearance to her as you visualize makes it easier to see her. (Same applies with visualizing anything -- descriptions help. Narrating it to her just makes it count as talking to your tulpa too.) As G|d30n said, once form is even a little sorted out, it doesn't hurt your focus at all to talk to the form you're working on.
