Ice909 September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 I could probably do smash competitively but I don't practice often enough. Online just isn't representative of real smash. I can fight friends irl and go to tournaments and do just fine but online? I'm fucking ass bro. It's bizarre. The ack of people to play with besides online (cringe) is why I essentially stopped playing smash. Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow): Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot. I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :) Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep. Luminesce September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 Having people to play with IRL makes a big difference, yeah. Also the difference in wifi and offline is pretty staggering for good players, but at lower levels it's virtually indistinguishable. Some characters like Marth are far less viable online while some like the heavies are more viable online Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us stuff. Illupepsi September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 Yup, online is just it’s own beast. I have noticed I do a lot better with heavyweights online. My best gsp character online is actually Ganondorf, who is supposed to be one of the worst in the game. But high amounts of lag make combos harder to hit and favor really strong moves. Ice909 September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 Yeah, offline, and hell, even playing on ethernet with friends in a vc, I can slay pretty well. But fighting randoms online just has a certain vibe to it that I detest. Hey there, the name's Bryan. Illupepsi September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 Online just has a lot more spammers and other types of players that aren’t particularly fun to play against, especially when you don’t know who you’re playing. But if you don’t have another choice I guess it beats fighting the cpu opponents. Hey, I’m Illupepsi, I’m the host of my tulpa Rebecca. Drink Pepsi! Ice909 September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 I'd rather just play a different game Hey there, the name's Bryan. Breloomancer September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 I like doing being a troll in in person casual games with friends because then everyone is in on it and if someone is actually getting annoyed I can just change my playstyle, but online you don't know those people and you can't gauge their reactions, so that sort of playstyle is a lot less fun for all parties involved I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much. I get off to a sort of chaotic sado-masochistic way of playing that evokes certain feelings in myself and my opponent, but that is completely lost online. In person is just better. I used to do smash tournaments at a semi-local arcade but those stopped when covid happened. I have no clue when they're gonna start again, but according to my friends I've gotten a lot better over quarantine, so I really wanna see how I fair in tournaments now, bc online isn't a gauge of skill. Illupepsi September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 Completely agree with that. I don’t get the point of trolling like that in an online game with people you don’t know and can’t see the reaction of. Doesn’t seem fun for anyone involved. At least in person you know each other and it can be way more fun. Huge difference between spamming online and doing it in person where you can laugh about it with others and they can tell you to stop. Hey, I’m Illupepsi, I’m the host of my tulpa Rebecca.
