Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow):

Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot.

I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :)

Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep.

Self-help books are good at making you feel like you've learned something that will change your entire life, but then not actually have changed anything later on, because they talk big without much substance to back it up

Still, I did improve by taking the little bit of actually good advice here and there over the years, so they're not worthless, but I am a little sus about spending your time reading such things when there are plenty of books that will impart real knowledge

That's the worst possible thing to think about self-help books.

I don't know whether that book will be really helpful or full of fluff, and reading a book won't kill you, but as someone who already spent years in the self-help rabbit hole I do want to make sure you don't get stuck in the cycle of scams and believing you're improving your life when you're not. If you just stick to books it's probably still fine, but if you EVER find yourself considering paying for a "course", "workshop" or any other similar nonsense, seriously stop and reconsider. No one is better at making you think spending money on a scam is a good investment than self-help gurus targeting vulnerable people.

The books can be helpful and thought-provoking, and certainly inspiring, but don't get carried away in self-help fantasyland promising to instantly fix your life

Take the helpful advice and think about the thought-provoking stuff, but know that at some point real action is required to make real changes
