That sucks. I played diablo 3 long ago and enjoyed it even though everyone said it sucked. I had nothing to compare it to. I didn't get into their auction system though even though I thought maybe I could make money from it for a short while

My mother seems to have ''disowned'' me, according to my brother she said that I'm no longer her daughter. All because I want to live my own life

Too bad I still need her to pay for my classes

People tend to hold up turning 30 as some sort of big scary thing, like if they haven't accomplished X by the time they turn 30 they're a failure. As a person who is 37 I can say that it's really over-hyped and people get way too worked up over it. Same with 40, probably--I'm not there yet but getting close, and I'm not letting myself get worked up over it. In any case, every generation has a different experience going through the various stages of life so it's no good to compare yourself to the Boomers or Gen Xers who were the age you are now when you were a kid. It's also no good to compare yourself to other people your own age--not everyone had an equal start, we all had different challenges and life circumstances. The only thing that it's good to compare yourself to is yourself from yesterday.

Also, I have known plenty of people who were not just overweight but morbidly obese in their 30s, 40s, or 50s who managed to lose weight and get down to healthy levels, so it's not impossible at all.

That's some weapons grade emotional manipulation right there. Don't let her get to you.

i was just going through my alice schach and the magic orchestra playlist (which, i am proud to say, is the most viewed and most comprehensive ASatMO playlist in existence), when i saw that two of the videos on the playlists --the oldest music videos by ASatMO, which have been made unlisted to search engines-- had their titles changed to "[ Please don't put this on your public playlist ]". what do i do? the music videos are really neat, and I really want to archive them, but i don't want to offend the members of ASatMO! i feel so conflicted right now

Music deserves to be free

That's incredibly weird, the only logical thing that could make someone erase the title of their video like that is if they reuploaded it as a better version or something and didn't want the old one around anymore. I attempted to search the song name ("魔法の首都・魔法の楽団"? unsure) and didn't see any results though, so if that song isn't available anywhere else, I don't think they have the right to tell you to remove them

Once you put something on the internet (especially if you made it public), it's there forever. No songs should be deleted, no art should vanish, everything should be archived (and usually is whether you want it to be or not)

I don't know if they have a plan about rereleasing those songs or something, or if they like lost the rights somehow, but all that notice stuff being in Japanese makes me very sus. Japanese music groups do stupid things like uploading a new song for just a few days before deleting the video. Personally, as far as I'm concerned if a song isn't available in an easily accessible way online, it deserves to be uploaded to Youtube by someone else. They kept the video around but unlisted though, which implies they don't want to take away access from people who've favorited it/etc., but that they don't want it to be discovered by new people or those who didn't save the link.

My personal opinion is that they have no right to do that.

the reason why they don't want it being spread around is probably, iirc, because the people who made the music videos split with ASatMO some time after making them, and i think there is some bad blood between the people who stayed and the people who left, but i don't really know the details. there may also be problems with ownership, since the people who made the videos left, but the people who made the music for those videos are still there

one of the songs is called "Alice Music", and it is the first song on the album "Alice Schach and the Frozen World Tree", and is not hard to find outside of that music video. the other one is, to my knowledge, the first song made by ASatMO; it is not uploaded publicly elsewhere afaik, and it is called "Magic Orchestra"

here's the thing: if they tried to force me, like if they just deleted the videos or whatever, i would have said "screw you", and i would have just reuploaded them. but that's not what they did. they asked me, they asked my nicely, to not use those videos, and it feels a bit rude to just ignore that

Well where possible, I would replace the unlisted video with an alternate upload, I guess. If the other song isn't uploaded elsewhere on Youtube, then while I'd like to say keep it out of stubbornness, technically a playlist is barely discoverable compared to a reupload, so it would make more sense to have it reuploaded and then put that link on the playlist instead.

Also.. There's really no difference in a video being unlisted to be accessible to people who favorited it/put it in private playlists, and people who look up public playlists. They're the exact same people, lol. It's just the uploaders being silly. Either way it won't be recommend to random people through the algorithm or anything, only existing Alice Schach fans.

Anyways, since they took the unorthodox and frankly bizarre action of changing the video's title to "Please don't put this in a public playlist", I think the only sensible option is to have the song reuploaded and use that video instead.

i'm pretty deliberate about which uploads i use in my playlist; i always use the best upload that i can find. for the unlisted videos (which are more than just the two that had their titles changed), they are all music videos, and many of them have useful comments, like english translations of the alician lyrics. if i replaced them, i'd probably rather reupload them myself than use another existing upload

it's getting late. i think i'll sleep on it
