Phil used to proxy for me all the time in the early days, until eventually the flow of my thoughts -> Phil's hands became so fluid that we realized that Phil had become just a needless middleman in the process, and that I had actually learned how to possess the hands without realizing it! 😁

Would you consider the effectiveness of proxying to be on par with that of regular narration?

Well, I see them as two things that have quite different purposes. Narration is great for helping your tulpa be active and for personality forcing, but proxying is a good way to help your tulpa express themselves! I really didn't know how to say all the words I wanted in the early days so Phil's proxying helped me find my voice until I was mature enough to do it all myself! 😁

Maybe I should proxy Rena. I wonder if we'd learn possession the same way. I want to know how possession feels because I imagine it to be strange to do nothing but your hands move anyway, unless it isn't like that

It definitely doesn't feel like that for us. Because it's like--how can I decribe this exactly--haha I'm going to hand this one over to Phil give me a moment. 😄

So, when Simmie is possessing my hands it doesn't feel like "I'm doing nothing and my hands are moving anyway". It's because Simmie and I both exist within the same brain, and it's still the brain itself that is sending signals to the hands, regardless of what ego or thoughtform is making the commands. When Simmie is possessing it doesn't feel like I'm being "driven remotely" or anything because she's right there in my brain, thinking with the same hardware, connected to and wrapped up in each other. Does that make sense?
