Ashley September 27 Share September 27 (edited) Oh god, Bear talks NYC up like it's some kind of magical place. He lived exactly 3 months there, he says the pee smell wasn't bad and you could get used to it. Bathrooms were a problem unless you had money but he'd go buy a hot dog at a local place and that allowed him to use the restroom. He paid $550 to literally sleep in a 3 square meter closet with clothes from the other tenant in it. Literally enough room to put a sleeping bag and a backpack which is all he had because he was there for the summer to work. The issue was he wasn't paid very well and he brought his car so he had to pay for parking which was like $12/day which was insane and it was one of those places you put the car in and can't access it unless you want to take it out and then you pay again to put it in, and couldn't take it out between 5pm and 8am, so no chance to even get to it if you work 8-5pm lol. Just stupid all around. He left it in there the whole time and so that plus food and the rent and other things he made like $1500 for the whole summer and it cost him like $900 in gas and food to drive there and back with minor side trips on the way and damn, after tax he made almost nothing. Complete waste of a summer except it's Bear and he's a resourceful guy, got a girlfriend there, though she was self-identified as gay so that was weird (she was obvs bi but told Bear she's ride the fence for him TMI I know, but not to expect more than a fling which he was kinda sad about at the end of summer because he liked her), and that's the girl my voice and attitude came from, kinda creepy, anyway she'd take him out and pay for it like 90% of the time with all her friends so he had all kids of fun, she was a bartender at a restaurant and she'd give him free drinks and food too. He chatted people up at the gym and made friends there, so it was kind of like a vacation. He missed that place for years and part of him still does. He had dreams of being with that girl and fantasized about her a lot afterward but she didn't have a cell and neither did he, and they never called each other again. It was very clear at the end that he was "just for fun" and she had "girlfriends" who like let him conditionally borrow her. What kind of story is this? Bear's had a crazy life, this is just one summer of it. Honestly he did better with his last gf, but she was intense and crazy and big time anger issues. Miri September 27 Share September 27 Wish I also had an interesting life. Not on the romantic side, I find hooks up and relationships you know are just temporary, to be kinda weird. I'm talking about stuff like moving to different places (I've lived in the same place my whole life), having all sort of jobs, an actual degree. You know, that kind of things What being a social butterfly gets you in life I guess Hi. I'm Miri, Miichu's host. I want to help my tulpa achieve her goals but ultimately, I'm just tagging along. Ashley September 27 Share September 27 It's partially being a social butterfly but a diamond is just a hunk of carbon until you polish it.

Ashley September 27 Share September 27 Time for phase 2, see you on the other side and hopefully I'm in a dream again, that last one was at least like I'm there but I'm a day player or sidekick, I want to be the main action like Gwen always gets to be. Reisen September 27 Share September 27 (edited) Five hours of sleep again lol, oh boy 5 hours ago, Miri said: If this town/city looked different, with interesting stuff to see, surrounded by nature, beaches, etc etc etc then maybe it'd feel better to take walks. But I live in the middle of one of the most boring looking regions. Barely any green except some parks I had the same thought last night, we really need to get out more but this place is so dreadfully boring it's hardly more simulating than sitting at our computer (but it still would be of course) 3 hours ago, Miri said: I probably sound like one of those annoying people who visit another country for a while and now they think that it's the best place in the world and that their homecountry sucks. Nah, it does suck to live in a city, they tend to all be pretty lame- 3 hours ago, Miri said: But I swear cities weren't nearly as dirty in Sweden as they are here. - okay well, if I had to think of one place on earth that had nice clean cities, I'd think of Australia.. But if I had to think of two I'd think of Sweden, lol. I think Spain's cities are so-so, they aren't particularly run down or anything but they are uniquely graffitied and perhaps that comes with a sense of "It's okay for them to be dirty". As far as cities go I still think Spain is in the middle, though, there are definitely worse and, in some places, there are better. Cities in general suck to live in unless you really like that setting though. But at least it still sounds like you live by some green. We have to go about 11 miles personally (well, we don't live in a city, just a dreadfully boring town in the middle of nowhere) to reach a nice hiking trail, which we don't have any real means to do right now, but we're looking into getting an e-bike (you can pedal but can turn on/off electric assistance to make it easier - because after all we'd want to still have energy to hike afterwards & get home lol) Edited September 27 by Reisen Hi guys, plain text is just me now! Miri September 27 Share September 27 6 minutes ago, Reisen said: but they are uniquely graffitied Average spanish city experience 7 minutes ago, Reisen said: there are definitely worse and, in some places, there are better. This is what I reply with to everyone who tells me to stop complaining because there are far worse places to live in (I know you were talking about cities specifically) But like, there also are better places. Like Sweden yeah lol, the town I stayed in is supposedly very boring and dull and whatnot, according to Swedes. But in my opinion, it was still far better than any place I've been to within Spain. Being surrounded by nature does a lot. Whole forest areas inside cities, can you imagine? Hi. I'm Miri, Miichu's host.
