it seems dream smp is an invite only minecraft roleplay server. I'm not sure why I should have known what that is. I barely play minecraft

 

I've heard of Dream as a speed runner from karl jobst I think, but never heard of their roleplaying server

having never gone anywhere near modern minecraft streamer content, we have heard the words "Dream SMP" probably 40+ times

 

like, vocally, idek how many times we saw it written out

No idea what it is with people complaining about new minecraft. Just screw around and explore, the newer updates cater to that aspect surprisingly well

 

It feels like mojang is slowly implementing their own iteration of Biomes 'o' Plenty

you underestimate old people. i asked my dad if he had heard of dream smp, and he said no

 

i don't mind a lot of the new updates, especially since with a lot of them, if you don't like whatever stuff they introduce, you can just not use it. like, i've seen a lot of people complain about how elytra trivialized exploring, but you can just not use elytra. i do think that minecraft has a bit of a feature creep problem though, where they add new stuff that don't really serve much purpose other than to make the game more complicated. like, what is the point of rabbits? and, while diorite can be used as a building block, it can't be used to craft anything, and it clogs up your inventory when mining, which just makes it kind of annoying. copper as well, is a fairly versatile building block that i actually like to use, but everything that you craft with it feels like so disconnected from everything else, like it was just made to justify copper existing. i guess my real problem isn't adding too many features per se, but that so many of the things they added feel disconnected from what is already in the game

 

i also feel that naturally generating structures are too common now. there are so many villages and broken portals and pillager outposts and such. the world used to feel much more empty, and structures were special because they were rare. now, it seems like the world is full of stuff already when you start playing, and it messes up the vibes
