Reisen April 23, 2024 April 23, 2024 Good night Full moon is tomorrow (but also the next day) Hi guys, plain text is just me now! We've each got our own accounts: me, Tewi, Flandre, and Lucilyn. TB April 23, 2024 April 23, 2024 I see I can't gauge the difference between something that uses the brain a lot and something that is specifically making a lot of new synapses specifically, if there is even a different feeling to it. Maybe it is the sense of wonder or excitement you get as a child that stopped happening as you get older, because then everything is new I can tell when something requires a lot of mental fidelity in some way though. It would be so much easier if this so called huge synapse creation process happened as long as you have a variety of things to rotate, even if you've done them before. Like if as long as you just worked different mental skills, like exercising different muscles. The saying was always "use it or lose it" not "do something totally new or lose it". Maybe brain health just comes from creating a healthy amount of synapses then maintaining them rather than always making new ones all the time. People don't infinitely gain muscle perpetually I can do more than one thing at least. Oh god my devastating childhood of playing runescape 36 hours a day, or WoW 36 hours a day, or MW2 36 hours a day, or league of legends 36 hours a day. Well that's a lot of new things I guess, but years apart. I guess I still played outside and had to go to school though, which might have helped until late middle school and then it stopped benefitting and became hazardous The moon does look almost full already. I didn't look closely or long enough to see if it was really full or not Good night Creation for creation's sake. we draw things Resident Dojikko
Reisen April 23, 2024 April 23, 2024 (edited) You do need new experiences periodically or your brain stagnates and becomes unhealthy/prone to depression I don't know, the way you're thinking about it is just weird and not right, maybe it's not as easy to grasp as it seems to us You should also have an inherent intuition that doing the same unproductive/unchanging thing forever is bad/unhealthy, right? Or am I assuming that when it's not the case too? (At least when it's the majority of what you do, and not complemented by a bunch of other life-enriching-things alongside it) Edited April 23, 2024 by Reisen Hi guys, plain text is just me now!
