Luminesce July 17 Share July 17 (edited) ETWOLD basically invented the majority of the subject of lucid dreaming in 1990, it's crazy But it also has some weird spirituality.. weirdness in people's accounts of lucid dreaming Unironically, you can simply skip those lmao, in my memory they didn't sound like lucid dreaming at all, more like creative writing or poetry or something... Breloomancer July 17 Share July 17 every time i try to make something with redstone it seems like either it's the easiest thing in the world, or a nearly insurmountable challenge. i decided that i should get around to figuring out the wiring on the auto brewer i wanted to make, and my goodness, tuning it so that it has the right timing is so annoying it should go: input bottles, do nothing for 20 seconds, remove bottles, repeat. setting up the timer was surprisingly easy, considering i had never done anything like it before, but getting the input and output hoppers to behave with proper timing is proving to be more of a challenge than i had anticipated i am beginning to see why the designs for auto brewers that i looked over before didn't include a system for removing brewed potions automatically I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much. Luminesce July 17 Share July 17 (edited) I spent hours trying to figure out how to check if what somebody typed into the console was a number or not in C++ the other day, so I get it There was no simple answer, you just have to make a ~small function to do it yourself And even then it only worked for int's, I couldn't figure out any way whatsoever to make it work for floats Edited July 17 by Luminesce Hi! TB July 17 Share July 17 (edited) Are you saying to skip the entirety of the ETWOLD book, or just the spiritual parts? also every second, 30 minutes passes. This is insane Edited July 17 by TB Creation for creation's sake. More of my drawings Resident Dojikko
Luminesce July 17 Share July 17 ETWOLD occasionally just gives a page of someone talking about their lucid dreaming experiences, and I'm saying you can just skip or skim them because they somehow mostly trended towards bizarre spiritual poetry instead of normal lucid dreaming experiences And I know this because I'd been reading people talking about lucid dreaming on the Dreamviews forum for 2 years before I read ETWOLD, and was blown away by how much it figured out right off the bat, but also confused as to wtf any of the guest anecdotes were talking about Hi! TB July 17 Share July 17 (edited) Ah I see, okay. I'll read at least a couple to see how I feel about them and choose to skip or not from there, unless I get an audiobook, then Idk how to skip them lol I see other people are talking about tulpamancy and IFS, or have at least. I'm late. In retrospect I came across the term in the past but didn't register or care or something so it feels new to me now that I'm actually partaking. A little of people talking about whether they think tulpas and parts are the same thing In my experience Rena can seem to feel similar to how Self is described, and iirc our first switching experience might have felt a lot like that. Idk Or Rena has her own parts and self, and when I try to access self, I either don't have or can't access my own and use hers. Or Self is shared but I'm so much further from it by default. I have 20 quadrillion lenses of perception and Rena has a few maybe I might understand yang and his using c word towards the self one tries to look for and understand annihilate the meditator cooking so you can cook yourself and be cooked I also realized I wonder if my characters would be parts and if they should be targets for IFS Also I read something about parts being the age you were during the trauma that created them. Maybe why I have felt teenaged for so long I don't want to lose any chars or tulpas though, but IFS isn't supposed to get rid of parts but instead get them to trust Self Sounds like this could go into a progress report but idk if it is enough, except I never mentioned starting ifs in mine I don't think Yeah I feel like first time Rena switching was actually the first time I experienced IFS therapy and I didn't even know what it was, but then it wasn't replicable The personality traits I made up to force her with initially are similar to the traits Self is supposed to have --- I could not find kindle version of etwold on amazon but there was an audiobook of it, though I also found a free pdf of it, so hmm Edited July 17 by TB Creation for creation's sake. Breloomancer July 17 Share July 17 ramblings about redstone. probably of no interest to anybody: Spoiler there are two phases: loading/brewing, and unloading. the problem is that these stages take very different amounts of time: loading and brewing takes 53 ticks, while unloading only takes 4, which means that, if i just use one clock for both of them, there will be 49 wasted ticks (just shy of 20 seconds) in the unloading stage, so my brewer will only be running at ~53% effective speed. now, that isn't the worst result, since it is still automatic, so i can just let it brew while i do other things and the wasted time doesn't matter that much, but i would still rather it ran closer to 100% speed so if i want it to go faster, i need to either use multiple clocks, or use a shorter clock and a counter. 53 is a prime number, so no solution using counters will get me to 100% efficiency, but even something like 90% efficiency would be pretty good. 53 is also much larger than 4, which means that my counter will have to count relatively high, which means that i will need a more complicated system. for now, i am going to investigate using multiple clocks instead, because that seems like it will be less complicated it should be very simple to set a 53 tick hopper clock to stop and activate a 4 tick hopper clock, but while the 4 tick hopper clock is activated, the items within the 53 tick clock will still be flowing, so if i just set the 4 tick clock to activate the 53 tick one, then the timing will be off and the clock will go off after only 49 ticks. however, since the 4 tick clock is much shorter, i could just set the 53 clock to be a 57 tick clock instead, and then the timing will be fine, and the 4 tick clock will be reset by the time it needs to be used again wait, actually, the 57 tick clock solution is perfect! at first i thought that it would have a 4 tick inefficiency, but actually, that only applies the first time it is activated, since after that those 4 ticks all happen while the 4 tick clock is going. i think that this should work my other idea was to alternate between using two 53 tick clocks, but if this idea works, that shouldn't be necessary I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much. TB July 17 Share July 17 (edited) I read it. I don't understand well but glad you found a potential solution that is also better than you thought it could be exercise into drawing time also my watch while not even on my arm earlier said my heartbeat went up to 151, so idk what that is about Edited July 17 by TB Creation for creation's sake.
