RARE footage of all of the present Z fighters actually not trying to take turns and actually fight him simultaneously and it was meaningless. They didn't even think about one on ones lol it just immediately went to crap

 

this was my first dragonball z movie (that I recall) and it left an impression lol. I want to know what cell was like in the movie universe because its implied to take place during the leisure time before the cell games

 

it's a weird situation because the unseen movie verse version of cell is probably stronger than broly but comparing movie broly to cannon cell, broly is probably stronger, cuz for some reason movie version of anime characters are always stronger than their cannon selves

 

that'd actually be an interesting youtube video to make. show examples of movie version of characters being stronger than their cannon contemporaries. idk if someone else already has

 

 

it's also interesting that vegeta is such a popular character despite how you can tell toriyama doesn't like him and always kind of writes him to be an embarrassment lol. dude is so arrogant when he goes to the planet under paragus's request to locate and destroy some problematic super saiyan or something, and then when he shows up he craps his pants and doesn't even try while everyone else is getting slaughtered

 

then piccolo gives him a pep talk so he goes in to get instantly RKO'd outta nowhere

 

 

i guess you can't blame him for not wanting to try lol

 

but yeah -make a character out of all of the qualities you hate in a person-

I made actual rice gruel, I can barely even eat this

And the movie in question in my last post in DBZ movie 8 "Nessen Ressen Chou Gekisen" or in english "The Legendary Super Saiyan" (which fyi isn't a translation of the japanese title lol, all the movies just have totally different names in english which google says is literally  "Burn Up!! A Red-Hot, Raging, Super-Fierce Fight" but I think that is more of a localization of the translation because i don't see why it isn't literally "violent fight, severe fight, super fierce fight" though they also all have connotation of a close fight or hard fought battle, i think

 

There are however 4 broly movies (really popular character lol)

movie 10 is called "broly: the second coming" in english (cuz idk who else can be consider as christ-like as broly. such a spiritual man full of penance amirite)

and movie 11 called "bio broly". these are the 3 DBZ broly movies and aren't considered to be a part of the cannon universe of the anime or manga. they are an alternate reality

 

movie 8 is extremely popular and beloved by many, though there is also a cult of people who hate it because they find the concept of broly to be obnoxious because they think it just looks like a bad testosterone filled violent stereotype of what people think dbz is or something, and some people misunderstand or find dumb certain plot points like "broly being triggered by goku because he cried as a baby" which isn't precisely what is going on but it can seem that way, though the actual explanation is still odd but I don't want to explain it without reviewing it again first lol cuz it might be hard to catch

 

I find it to be a very entertaining movie though

 

second coming and bio broly however are far less popular, probably due to the fact that broly spends a lot of time fighting goten and trunks, who are children, so it seems dumb to people who just watched him brutalize goku, future trunks, "teen" gohan, piccolo, and vegeta lol. also broly... has no dialogue because his brain has completely snapped and for some reason seems only capable of yelling kakarot, and in bio broly he just grunts

 

I still find those movies entertaining despite the flaws making them very not ideal. my biggest gripe is broly clocking VIDEL in the face and she doesn't instantly turn into a blood mist lol like what bruh, broly is either really compassionate now or videl went from being batman level in the anime to being super saiyan level in the movies like ?????????? I think it is probably more they don't want to just violently kill a prominent character so easily and children's movie but yeah

you also get to see goten merc a t rex. 7 yr old boy man handling a huge dinosaur makes me happy

 

second coming and bio broly also get to have not goku or vegeta be the main characters for once, so you get to see gohan, videl, android 18 and krillin be heroes

 

and bio broly has some creepy horror elements that are cool

 

and second coming is where broly's omega blaster comes from which is one of my favorite attacks in budokai 3 and tenkaichi 3

 

then broly was not seen again for 24 years!

 

after 1994, in 2018, broly came back, but actually cannon, in dragonball super: broly. a dbs movie

 

I remember being there for all the teasers and reveals. The first thing we see of the villian of the new movie is their arm, and people were speculating that it was yamoshi, the original super saiyan god

 

then it was revealed to be broly, and everyone flew into a rage and dropped even considering the movie anymore loool, not me though

 

this broly was totally revamped into basically being a completely different character. They basically just look similar and have the same name, and have a similar gigantic super saiyan form after a normal super saiyan, though it isn't called "legendary super saiyan"

that, and the fact that everyone loved the fresh and new art and animation direction of naohiro shintani, as well as the beloved yuya takahashi, who is responsible for one of the fanbase's favorite art styles in dragonball super, people ended up adoring the movie

utterly hilarious but coulda been me. "super hero" and broly is one of the most violent and evil characters I've ever witnessed lol but you can't help but be in awe

 

The new, dbs super hero broly, is not inherently evil. He's just a simple and innocent, borderline feral child raised in semi neglected fashion, stranded on a wasteland of a planet with his questionable father that he naturally cares about despite being mistreated by him. He has well meaninged instincts but it is an unfortunate situation for the circumstances of the battle. As such people find him endearing and really likeable

 

I don't mind the change to broly for the most part, and I do love the new broly as well. There are some other lore changes that annoy me though, but not sure I'd call any db movie perfect despite being highly enjoyable for me and it is more of a preference for themes and aversion to I think unnecessary changes rather than being bad, i guess

 

Anyway, all that to say, what broly are you referring to when you talk about broly's popularity? lol

 

I guess you said media, so all of it maybe, in time. if not, at least movie 8 and dbs broly

 

movie 8, as all dbz movies, is only 40ish minutes long, maybe 50

 

dbs broly is like almost 2 hours long or something. The new era of dragonball movies have all been more than twice as long as the old era of movies

I go to bed at good times (not consistent though but in a good range) though I don't fall asleep predictably. I might fall asleep within 20 minutes, or it might take 8 hours. It's weird
