I see. Yeah I think I heard that as well which is why I chose this one. It is also far better than common budget Nvidia card, the rtx 4060. People complain a lot about the 4060, but 4070 is kind of a whole different price tier. I think my performance is inbetween those two, like 3070ish or 3070 ti. Either way I'm jumping forward light years from a GTX 1050 lol

yeah amd has some catchup to do in the gpu space but they are really, really good. same with CPUs.

Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow):

Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot.

I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :)

Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep.

Ice do you know what the plug I circled is and how I'd even plug it in if I need to?

Probably hard to see, but it is kinda just there coming from the bottom front fan. I already plugged in 2 plugs I believe were fan plugs, and I assumed one was the back exhaust and the other the front 3. Idk if you actually have to plug in all 4 individually. But yeah, there is 0 way to pull that cord up to the motherboard if it is supposed to plug into the motherboard. And I don't think fans get plugged in with the PSU directly, do they?

It has 3 long metal pins and one short one. I don't remember what the other plugs I did I thought were fans looked like, but I thought they were different that this one. Hmm

Yeah I heard amd is great except for ray tracing so unless you want to do ray tracing they are probably better performance to budget. Idek what ray tracing is exactly, something to do with light effects or something, I don't care whatsoever

My phone can Google images to tell you what things are but this is the first time it has failed, that I know of anyway. It doesn't seem to know what it is looking at

that's a fan header if I'm not mistaken. it might be for daisy chaining, and if that's the end of the chain, is irrelevant. like how christmas lights have a port at the end of the chain. if the other stuff if plugged into your mobo, you're good.

Oh okay, that's good

I just inserted the GPU. I don't feel comfortable about it though. It felt odd to insert and wasn't the easiest thing, but it lines up with the back rail screw things anyway so I was able to put in screws properly that holds it in place, and I believe I heard something click. It just felt odd though, but maybe cuz it is such a wide plug in compared to other cables

I took screenshot on laptop of my phone picture so it wouldn't be 2 giant pictures, and that's why it says close in the top left of the 2nd accidentally

It almost feels like it is sagging a little, but the video didn't say anything about ways for it to hold itself up other than being plugged in and screwing in the plate where the display ports or whatever are

it always feels wrong, don't worry. totally different from putting ram in. speaking of, make sure the ram is spaced 1 slot apart if you're using 2 sticks.

Oh okay, that's good to know. And yeah, my motherboard manual says to put it in slots a2 and b2 if you are only using 2 sticks to get the best performance, which would be the 2nd and 4th slot

that sounds about right

Taking a food break. I just have to plug the psu into the gpu and then see if it turns on, maybe update bios, and install windows

Then comes the adventure of making sure all the files I want to keep are on my external ssd or flash drive, cuz idk if I'll ever turn this computer back on again if the new one works properly. And there will be a lot of installing to have to do, and rearranging room to put the new desk in the right spot. Got a bigger desk for my computer desk, which will be so relieving. I hate how little room I have on my current table
