I was originally planning to update bios cuz I assumed my motherboard would just have the oldest version and there have been many updates, but my motherboard came with it already being on one of the latest versions, it starts at 2, but i'm on 13 and it is now at 15. I guess I'll update the bios to just be thorough though, but idk how much those help me, so i hope it doesn't go wrong

and Idk, I really like firefox and chrome and they have a lot of add ons that I use a lot. Idk if edge does

don't chrome addons kinda suck now though? i thought that they were making an effort to make it so that you couldn't use addblockers on chrome

Idk, i use chrome far less. The chrome addons I care about are related to japanese learning and can do things like add japanese subtitles to a japanese youtube video or netflix or something, but i haven't watched youtube on it lately so idk. have to ask lumi how its going

ANother thing I didn't know until recently and apparently a lot of people don't know this, is you need to turn on the XMP setting in BIOS if you actually want your ram to run at what it is rated for. If you buy 3200mhz ram and don't do that, it will just run at 2133mhz. Even if you have 6000mhz ram it will just run as 2133mhz. Turning on XMP makes it run what it should I guess and for some reason it is never turned on by default, so PSA I guess incase anyone has fast ram and never checked their BIOS to see if XMP is on

 

If you have amd cpu it is called EXPO instead I think

 

alright we are installing windows. I recently reinstalled windows on my computer and I think it took 4+ hours

 

Guide said with modern computers it takes like 10 minutes, so let's see if I built a modern computer

If I was installing windows 11 i'd been cooked cuz it requires you be connected to internet and my desktop is too far away from my ethernet cable cuz of where I built it lol. Why does 11 not let you skip that but 10 does. But finally done

 

drivers and everything else can wait until tomorrow, cuz id have to hook up to the internet which requires moving a lot of heavy things and some cleaning

chrome's killing extensions' ability to be actually good yes, uBlock is already not available on the store (though it seems to still be working for us, we're switching to Firefox the moment we can't block an ad)

Firefox is the #1 go-to for all reasons, but they get most their funding from a contract with Google to have it be their default search engine, and it sounded like an antitrust lawsuit was gonna maybe cause them to have to stop doing that, which would surely be really bad for firefox, so idk what its future looks like atm

but even without 80% of their funding, they still have more organic support from the world's nerds than any other browser so

yeah obviously there's lots of stuff worth seeing in Dragon Ball, though it's far from the first anime we'd have not watched because we weren't comfortable with pervy stuff, but that was still only half the reason, I just baaarely decided to finally watch the first half of DBZ so "tacking on" the entirety of DB is quite a lot

 

though uhhh, looking at the timeline, it seems like DB gets much closer to the start of DBZ than we thought? does DB not end with Goku still as a kid? we do need to watch anything within a few years of the start of DBZ so I might be watching ~the end of DB, whatever episodes that entails

 

and uhhh, hard to explain why just watching the 22nd tournament lol

since this was more a check-in than "only seeing the important parts" (which would be incorrect), it's just that we wanted to see where a lot of the characters were at back in DB, more than wanted to see their whole journey

it's pretty infamously known that all of those characters become powercrept to irrelevancy in DBZ (though Krillin held on as long as he could), so I'm not trying to see every moment of their lives just to watch them immediately become irrelevant lol, but I DO want to have some attachment to them when like bad things are happening, as opposed to just "side character died, next", so "checking in" on some parts of DB does that for us

 

also between wiki'ing and what we saw as a kid we do know a looooot, but clearly not everything if we didn't even know Launch was a character

Lumi did see the Goku climbing the tower & cat master stuff as a kid though, as another example

oh btw you didn't buy Windows already right? they don't deserve the money for making worse OS's that people only use because they have a monopoly on compatibility, especially when they make tons of money from all the spying on you they do for using it anyways

we used to use a keygen for us & family/friends in the past which was a zip file we could share, but nowadays there's an even more accessible hack(s) with https://massgrave.dev/ (use HWID options if/when applicable)

(you install Windows normally for free first, just with a USB, and then use whatever method on massgrave.dev to activate it permanently for your specific PC)

I mean they struggle in dbz to be relevant, but people still underestimate how strong they get anyway. A lot of people think they get stuck in the low thousands or 10s thousands for rest of life, but they probably catch up to at least what would have been relevant in previous sagas. Also you got Tien's Neo Tri Beam holding down semi perfect cell, which is utterly asinine as semi perfect cell is stronger than people that can murder super saiyans with no difficulty (at least frieza saga/early android saga super saiyans)

 

You also see Krillin dealing with imperfect cell solo as he desperately tries to save a mother and her child from being absorbed by imperfect cell. So a character doesn't have to be destroying the enemies to be engaging, but I do wish they had more instances of that and found more creative ways to be helpful

 

Also yes, Goku becomes an adult in dragonball. He is 12 years old at the start of the show and through the 21st tenkaichi budokai. Tenkaichi budokais are held once every 3 years. 22nd, the one you are watching that has tien, he is 15 years old roughly, probably close to 16. The 23rd tenkaichi budokai, which has piccolo junior, the piccolo you know of, he is 18 years old, and the end of dragonball is goku's wedding with chi chi and then them going on a little adventure together to put out chi chi's father's castle out cuz it is suffering from a supernatural fire caused by a leak in the furnace that heats the water/substance that creates the barrier between the realm of life and death on the opposite side of the world, before starting a family

 

then a 5 year time skip happens, so goku at start of z has 4 year old gohan and is probably about 23 or 24. I love that everyone is shocked to see him have a child and thought goku had to just be baby sitting, even though they clearly saw him get married lol

 

The end of the 22nd tenkaichi budokai has some pretty extreme events that leads directly into the demon king piccolo saga though and is quite tense, and the demon king piccolo saga leads directly into piccolo junior. There is like no time of peace between these last 3 sagas and you are at the part of dragonball where it starts catapulting into z, as there are less adventures and more focus on fighting super villians and using massive ki blasts and charging up and stuff, where as before it was comparatively more grounded

 

I feel like there is a db phase 1, db phase 2 which is a transition phase starting around piccolo and continuing until vegeta, then namek saga is phase 3 and you get what people think of with dbz fights

I didn't buy windows normally, I bought a key from a cd key website that sells windows keys for insanely cheap. I got windows 10 pro for like 16 dollars, so idk if that money goes to microsoft but I don't think it does

well okay, I don't recommend buying shady keys for anything in the future though, pretty much always better/safer to pirate than to do that

and for windows specifically you can use that site to generate a key

right, which is why I disable it. although, the chat version of copilot (which is different than the windows copilot apparently), I use over chatgpt. I may be against ai images but I'm actually pretty fine with ai text for things like ideas and whatnot. even as an english major, it's not replacing my job anytime soon.

edge has all chrome addons but they don't suck like they do on chrome. 

 

had to shave my upper body for my costume :(( it took like an hour. and I used hair removal cream only a month ago! but that caused a lot of ingrown hairs so idk if I wanna use it again on my chest :(( idk if I let it sit for too long or not long enough for it to cause ingrown hairs like that, or if it just Does That, or if maybe it gets better with repeated use, idk. 

 

You guys see those silly chatgpt powered tts lil dudes on (especially vtuber) streams? that chat can interact with and such. I wanna do one of those for my stream. a lil purple pikmin. named Edward. 

I'm just now realizing I don't think I've ever actually said this here, I'm a really big pikmin fan (only happened within the past year). I've played 1, 2, 4, and bloom, actually beat 1 and 4, and play bloom daily, which, side note, pikmin bloom os grossly unoptimized. Fuck you, Niantic. But alas, I love seeing the little guys in silly little decor. My fav is purple pikmin. I need a man like that, if that makes sense.

I do custom resin dice for my college's dnd club (I'm treasuerer, we sell them for fundraising) but our work space is underground in an under ventilated space with 0 respirators or air filters. Oops! 

Actually, I should get one of those room air filters. wonder if it'd help. the room itself is rather large.
