Thank you bestie

Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow):

Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot.

I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :)

Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep.

oh right, forgot the angle that most people are just pro-war by default

sorry, we really do believe humans should be above violence, it takes a lot of understanding (that we don't have for the middle eastern conflicts, and that I doubt any of you do either) before we support the idea of "well THIS side should use violence, it would be a good thing!"

Violence is the easy, and practical, answer to all bad injustices in the world, and the default thinking of all humans (including the ones you consider bad in the first place) is to use force to accomplish what you think is right (including people who think "I should be rich/powerful" is right lol)

but that really is an infinite cycle, there's no "Well we can have peace soon, once the Good Guys win a few more bloody wars!" - pure-hearted Good Guys are ABSOLUTELY NOT in charge of the world's strongest militaries, so we just can't believe that the violence will stop "just after we win for real"

I know belief in non-violence leads to inaction, and that that is preferred by any opposing actually bad side

I know anyone will fight when their and their families'/friends' lives are threatened

but we just can't look at a future where humans continue fighting back and forth forever and say "Yes, I want to be part of making that happen"

so it's VERY RARE that we are outright pro-violence for any situation, we generally require said side to be genuinely "pure-hearted" in the conflict first of all, which is hardly ever the case in geopolitical conflicts, and then we also have to somehow believe that promoting violence will be an entirely good thing and not simply give the OK to stronger, less-good people to be violent as well

That makes it really hard to say "Cuba should stage a violent revolution!" for example because as soon as real violence is okayed, the US will crush them even worse than it already is doing economically

I know that practically speaking violence is sometimes the most likely overall-positive solution, and that remaining nonviolent can just mean oppression is allowed to continue

But we just can't be part of the endless cycle of violence - if that means dying without making a tiny contribution to the good-er side(s) in a conflict in the indefinite violence of humanity, then that's just the cause we died for

But I do think a possible future without (remotely as much) violence is worth trying for

And we don't blame people who fight for what they think is good

But.. We're gonna keep saying "erm actually all war is bad" to anyone who'll listen anyways

maybe the main effect people like us have is causing the winners-through-violence to have thought about the idea of non-violence as a good thing, and so using their winning force to prevent further violence

we're not claiming our beliefs are a solution to violence on their own, but I do think our influence is still furthering our goal even if indirectly

a student of pacifism approaches his wise master, distraught. the master asks what is on his mind, and the student explains "when i was fetching some water for the temple, a man ran at me with a knife. i tried to run but he was faster than me. somehow i managed to grab his arm and start wrestling with him, and then i punched him in the kidney, and while he was doubled over in pain, i ran away. i haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. was what i did wrong?"

the old master stroked his beard in thought for a moment, then spoke "one must never resort to violence. all violence is bad, no matter the type or the reason. of course, the man with the knife was wrong to attack you, but when you attacked him in kind to defend yourself, you were still contributing to the cycle of violence"

"but what else could i have done, master?" the student asks

"well you could have simply tried to reason with him"

"i didn't have time; it happened to fast that, in the time it would have taken me to utter a few words, the knife would have already landed between my ribs, master"

"yes, but consider this: a corpse is incapable of contributing to the cycle of violence"

and the student was enlightened

I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much.
