Imposition is becoming a lost art... people on Tulpa Town are insisting it's just imagining in irl space without actually seeing anything, and that we shouldn't give people high expectations.

well it's sort of in-between

it won't be real-lifelike-wow-that's-an-actual-dinosaur-in-my-room, but it's more convincing than just visualizing in 3D space as well

half the point of imposition is learning to think of it as real after all, we wouldn't have created a name for the skill if it was just visualizing

people who think it's just visualizing should probably work on sense of touch/warmth and sound to get a better idea of how visual imposition should be

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

Yeah all my warm clothes are at the laundry mat right now so I'm freezing lol. 50s is the coldest because it isn't cold enough to make the heat come on very much, so it is a lot colder than the thermostat says, compared to if it was llike in the 20s, then it would be really hot at the same setting

@Ice909, I downloaded deadlock finally. I'm not ready to play yet as I have other things to do today, but hopefully in a few days I can try it out

I also was recommended to do stress tests and stuff and I want to figure out fan curves and such

My phone always capitalized laundromat as Laundromat, so I started thinking maybe Laundromat is like, a specific chain of them or something, and the laundry mat is more generic. Like Q Tips vs cotton swabs. If it is laundromat, I wonder why it is a proper noun

I guess laundromat is an old brand of washers invented by some person, but for some reason is also what those places are called. laundry mat seems to be a commonly used term but is considered technically incorrect. I guess my phone capitalized laundromat because it thinks I'm referring to a brand of washers from the 1930s instead of the public places for washing your laundry in modern times

Is this really how things devolve? Of course they end up believing it’s not real if nobody ever gets to that point

This is true, but it’s something that’s more related to good practicing habits. Holding your imposition to a standard is harder to maintain, and it’s just simpler to stick to doing it just to do it. It’s a lot of wasted energy if imposition is held to high stakes.

Seriously, though, who says that just stopping at presence imposition should be the norm? I completely agree that people shouldn’t be given high expectations, though, considering how

Bre is the only person I know who does do the extent you're talking about

I asked her the other day out of curiosity, and in the beginning she just messed around until things got interesting. She told me that she would have most likely had trouble with practicing consistently if she took it any more seriously

Figuring out how to do imposition is important, but figuring out how to get people to stay committed is the greater problem. If we can find a way to do that, more people would be convinced to try doing a lot more with it.

D-prime is shrinking as we speak.

honestly, with how good our "visualized" sound is, you'd think we'd have naturally learned sound imposition, but we never have even a tiny bit (and I can't on the spot)

I think the problem is that none of our voices are based on one real IRL voice, so we can't focus on the sound of them the same we can for the voices of people we hear talk all the time

@TB

just alt-tabbed back to watching Dragon Ball, at Krillin vs Chiaotzu, and realized a way simpler way of saying what we wanted lol

We just wanted to get an idea of the characters' origins, to know where they came from (like, as in how-their-dynamics-used-to-be)

we can assume they all became friends through shared struggles just fine, but seeing how-they-were way back when helps cement them more as established characters if that makes sense

I see. Yeah it is awesome to compare how krillin was when training with goku for the first time and how much contempt he had for goku just because he comes off as stupid to him, then by the cell saga he respects goku so much and by extension his son, so when gohan's mistake of not killing cell instantly lead to goku's death he is so compassionate as to not have any anger or cruel thoughts or feelings for gohan and tries his best to make him not hate himself and comfort him. By 22nd tenkaichi budokai goku and krillin are bros now but it isn't until maybe saiyan saga that I realize he has a lot more humility and sense of self sacrifice

Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow):

Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot.

I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :)

Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep.
