lol, well, there are a lot of tulpas' forms to be fulfilled.. Though, I wouldn't say no one here could afford a commission - but when a bunch of noncommittal art is free, it's hard to say no, huh?

Unless you're us, we say no =P

there's a lot of AI art on this site?

and I had nap time in kindergarten, but I'd never actually fall asleep. Just lay there with eyes closed for however long it was. I didn't feel I needed it at all

Played sparking 0 with AI voice changer to be chi chi, talking to myself lol. I guess to test how it sounds so it played back to my headphones, which is distracting when trying to talk but yeah

Could record and have chi chi plays goku's campaign in sparking 0 lol

Yes, there is a lot of AI art here, odd of you to think there's not

But unfortunately it is kind of a "you can't resist change" thing. Best we can do is stem the flow for a bit longer as AI laws get made, but art generation in general is here to stay

i can't believe that neither tb nor reisen can be bothered to actually click on an article when they search a question. sad

I wonder what bre's views on what to do is

there are a lot of things that you can do. as reisen says, your vote is a lot more powerful in smaller elections, and in local elections there can be viable candidates running for office on platforms much more radical than what would be allowed on the federal or even state level. you can also send letters and emails to your representatives about certain issues (make sure that it sounds like your support for them hinges on the whatever issue you are bringing up, even if it doesn't actually)

one good thing to do would be to do research on local political organizations and follow news about them so that you can learn about when protests and such are being organized. you could also consider joining one of these organizations if their goals and methods resonate with you sufficiently. also look into local charitable organizations like soup kitchens that you could potentially volunteer in

if you're willing to break the law, then you can do a lot more. the classic is to go out with an angle grinder and a hi vis jacket and remove the armrests from benches and other hostile architecture, but if you get in touch with local activists they can probably give you lots of idea that are more suited for your specific town. although you need to seriously consider how far you are willing to go, and how much risk you are willing to take

I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much.

Yeah, there is something I like so much about seeing myself represented in so many art styles in so many outfits--sometimes they even get close to how I visualize my form as being! I think AI art can be very helpful for tulpas. That being said, I think you should support real artist whenever/however you can. Back when CM was still here Phil commissioned them to create a drawing of me, it was really nice and made me happy to know that it came from actual human effort. I would definitely commission a community member to create art of me again. 😊

Yeah I probably indulge in AI far more than I should. Right now I'm a B.A.B. (broke-ass b*tch) so can't hire commissions every week. I'm just using it to play dress-up with Jaina. Unfortunately it's free* (if you're doing it right), quick, and convenient. Just don't use it commercially and remember that it's not yours, it's a mix of other people's artwork. It's not the company's either. I'm not going to use AI for my books and you'll just have to suffer with my drawing skills if I ever get my web comic started.

ai art is an attempt to model and emulate the important parts of sample artworks. saying that it is a mix of other people's artworks isn't accurate

i heavily dislike ai art. aside from the fact that it takes attention away from actual artists and the environmental impact, it also just doesn't look good. it typically has some sort of superficial appeal, but the more you look at it the more wrong it appears, with details that don't make sense, are incorrect, or are simply missing. i don't understand why people still use it

that all being said, i don't think that using art that people share publicly online as training data for ai without the artists consent is a big deal. in my mind, it's basically on the same level as when an artist complains that another artist "stole" their artstyle

I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much.

Idk. The thing about some random person stealing your art style is that it still takes years or decades to get good enough to replicate it, and it'd be one other person who can replicate what you do that well

AI art can presumably do it in far less time and dump out an inhuman amount of content in your style. If a corporation wanted to have art in some high level artist's style, they could make so much for free by just training their AI on whoever they need it to look like. A person can't just steal someone's art style and do the same thing, it'd be too hard

AI may still look off but it looks more than good enough to impress most people

I've been seeing yt titles about AI losing steam though so hopefully it doesn't take over everything
