Unless you're just an avid watcher of let's plays, I guess You may not believe this, But Seagull has never actually played DDLC, dispite me, Reina and Alexander being fictives from that game, he even bought DDLC+ and still didn't play it, all the information about it came from Reddit, YouTube, Mods of the game, and reading the games script files. - Zara Today's quote I still have to push the finger firmly to press submit at times, but it's wise to have some doubt, just not too much. - Zara Seagull's Active member list Reina - Social and giddy Zara - Cute and friendly Alexander - Calm and logical No signature or Seagull = Seagull - Honest and direct
Breloomancer January 17 Share January 17 why would you read the game script files instead of just playing the game? I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much. Seagull just didn't want to commit himself to the experience, he saw that it was a psychological horror, so it spooked him a bit. Every time he looked at the script files, MC's inner monologue specifically, it just made him feel bad about he own writing. But us becoming original characters was not because of that, it was because it was natural progression of our independence.

The mold for a tulpa doesn't have to be cannon. It be whatever the host makes of it, and besides, it's only a matter of time before a fictive grows out of being a fictive to become their own person anyway. If you're taking about money, as long as the source has already generated a ton of money, then not playing the games is not a big deal.
Tewi January 17 Share January 17 Just being a (very big) fan of something without ever consuming the original content. Standard stuff And having a headmate who's based on a media is usually about as big a fan as one can be, so Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. Standard stuff And having a headmate who's based on a media is usually about as big a fan as one can be, so I can understand that, needing to be loyal to the source as a true fan, which means understanding the source, so naturally you would assume that they've experienced it firsthand. But what if I told you that just because one has experienced the source, doesn't mean that they understand it, a reading a wiki can help as well. DDLC for example has several fan games that totally lack an accurate portrayal of the characters, too the point where there were posts on Reddit about people complaining that they don't understand the characters. So understanding the source is different from just simply playing it, I'm not saying that the source shouldn't be played, of course not, I'm just saying it's not required. But we're not the biggest of fans anyway, Seagull just spent a really long time looking into his own versions of the characters while making a fan game that never saw the light of day due to it's size, copyright, and including personal stuff.
Tewi January 17 Share January 17 (edited) It'd be pretty hypocritical for me to say a headmate needs to be loyal to the source material, and that's not quite what I was saying. It's just sort of a "wearing a Nirvana shirt but never listened to their albums" thing Anyways, we count knowing the source material through other means like let's plays or large amounts of wiki reading I suppose, but it can still be a little strange Edited January 17 by Tewi Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I would like to know how @Legion got their 3 Zelda fictives, that sounds interesting.
