Ice909 February 16 February 16 Beyblade Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow): Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot. I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :) Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep. TB February 16 February 16 something i feel like everyone knows that i know very little or nothing about is actors and movies. everyone knows every Hollywood actor and all the movies they play in and as what characters. some people when referring to a character in a movie they will say the actor name instead of the character name. that seems kind of cursed because they seems a lot less immersive if it just looks like some guy you know playing a role instead of watching the story and seeing them as their own people in the story. but I'm not a bit movie person closest I'm a nerd with is voice actors but even then it's still very little. handful of dragonball voice actors and videogame voice actors i also maybe know more about animators of Dragonball than average person on the street Creation for creation's sake. we draw things Resident Dojikko
TurboSimmie February 16 February 16 That's a very kind way to put it Reisen. 😊 It was one of those moments that made me question reality just a little bit. The existence of a person/character/mascot (Still not sure what to call Miku) that isn't just ultra-famous now, but has been around for 18 years was really, really jarring. It's as if the writers of a show decided to dump some major lore out of nowhere. Like, imagine that someone literally invented Lady Gaga or Rhianna today and ran a system update on humanity's brains so overnight everyone knew who they were, not just now, but having memories of listening to them in 2009 or whatever, but you were the one person exempt from this patch that everyone else's brains got. That's kind of how it felt like. 😵💫 Now I'm paranoid that anytime someone says something that sounds like nonsense on this forum it's actually a reference to something that "everyone knows". 😄 Tulpa Wife & Mother! 💚 💍 11.28.21 👶 4.7.23 👗 Simmie's AI Dress-Up! 📷 Chloe and Simmie's Photographic Adventures!
TB February 16 February 16 ive had something similar happen recently except in like reverse because i thought i knew something that every else also knew but i guess it wasnt true and others dont know it legitimately makes me question reality miku was one of the first things i discovered when i first used the internet in middle school though and vocaloids were one of my primary music to listen. that's about the same time i discovered touhou and owen was her Creation for creation's sake. we draw things Resident Dojikko
TurboSimmie February 16 February 16 Vocaloid and Touhou are two things I cannot understand no matter how many times people explain them to me. 😄 I'm sure they are very good things, but I just can't understand what they are. I speculate the reason is that the "kinds" of things each of them are are both very Japan-specific and don't have an easy American analog for me to relate them to. TB February 16 February 16 (edited) idk closest i can think of vocaloids like miku is like midi but its a voice instead of a piano for touhou uhhhh, japanese contra or metal slug maybe? idk they are both 2d games where you shoot bullets and dodge bullets, but instead of manly military vietnam guys or the mercenaries in metal slug, you play and fight as cute girls based on things in japanese folklore like youkai and moon rabbits and manuke(maneki) nekos shooting balls of light like dbz characters with infinite ki and they all know hellzone grenade 2.0 Edited February 16 by TB Creation for creation's sake. we draw things Resident Dojikko

TB February 16 February 16 (edited) im not sure, see daft punk is a name ive heard of before but dont know what is and probably is the thing no one can believe i dont know lol. i looked him up, it sounds like he sings himself, so i dont think so. i meant like selecting the note and syllable and so the computer program sings it for you, unless he is doing that and it just sounds way more natural compared to miku and people just really like the idea of ZUN's character designs and stories, so it got a big fandom with tons of fan art, fan animations, fan comic books, fan games, fan novels, fan everything. just a big obsession, the same as mlp or dbz or whatever 3 letter government agenc- i mean tv show or movie series like starwars procurs Edited February 16 by TB Creation for creation's sake. we draw things Resident Dojikko

So I'm to understand that Vocaloid is basically a songwriting program that has an emphasis on voice samples? 4 minutes ago, TB said: and people just really like the idea of ZUN's character designs and stories, so it got a big fandom with tons of fan art, fan animations, fan comic books, fan games, fan novels, fan everything. just a big obsession, the same as mlp or dbz or whatever 3 letter government agenc- i mean tv show or movie series like starwars procurs So it's kind of like Undertale? Like, in the sense that the game itself is a fairly small thing put the fan community has turned it into a big expansive thing?
