Unrelated, but:

 

Chloe is gathering her courage to come out to a friend she has known for 15 years. I would call him an online friend, by Chloe has actually met him IRL twice. We suspect he will probably be accepting because we know for a fact he has at least one other trans friend.

 

Also, Chloe turns 39 in just 13 minutes. 😁💚

akira toriyama drew the dragonball manga from 1984 to 1995. for whatever reason, after the part of the story where goku finally wins the world tournament and is declared the strongest man in the world, the anime in particular added a Z to the title and started the episode counter over at 1 (but the manga the anime is based on continued to still just be called DB). The DB anime is 153 episodes, and the DBZ anime, consisting of after Goku had gotten married and had a kid, has 291 episodes.

 

right after toriyama retired from making dragonball and the series ended, toei animation wanted to continue the show, so they made up dragonball GT, which consists of goku's time being a grandpa (although he is in a child body again because the main villian from the first saga in the show wanted him to be a kid again because he found it unfair goku is so strong now, but unfortunately for him it didn't affect his power in a way that matters lol). unfortunately it only went for 64 episodes and finished in late 1997

 

then no new series for a long time, except dragonball kai, which is just dragonball z with less filler episodes, and the frames were remastered, and voice acting and music redone. there also was an special little OVA made i think in 2008 that was new little unserious story for fun

 

then Hollywood in 2009 aired a dragon ball live action movie called dragon ball evolution, and it is probably the most despised live action anime movie in human history. it's actually kind of sad. it was hated so much i think it gave the guy who acted for goku (justin chatwin) and the guy who wrote the script some degree of trauma. they both feel awful to this day from what i've heard, because the movie was so bad (bad mostly because producers asking for script changes to make it more palatable to a wider american audience, which meant less like dragonball, the world renowned thing everyone is a fan of and wants to see, so hollywood producers are brain geniuses)

 

this movie was so bad in fact, toriyama decided he wanted to a new movie for dragon ball z made, and he is highly respected in japan so idk the details but i guess he can just ask toei to make his movie script and they'll say yes, so that is when battle of the god's was made, and the purple anthro cat named beerus because a character. it was so popular, they made another dragonball z movie called resurrection F, and from there, they decided to just continue on with it as a whole new story called dragon ball super, which was animated first instead of drawn as a manga first. it would get a manga adaption after the anime, and it would be drawn by toyotaro, the author of a famous doujinshi called dragonball AF. it would go on for 131 episodes, ending in 2018. since then, there has been several more movies, and they never took a break making videogames for it every year, so yeah, dragonball is alive and well

 

now there is a recent new anime series, also no manga, that was Toriyama Sensei's last project he ever worked on before passing away. He didn't ever get to see it air for himself, which is super sad. It's Dragonball Daima, and the last episode for it is planned to air on the 28th of this month

 

 

 

 

there is also a promotional anime called dragonball heroes. it's very wacky and over the top, almost looks like it is fan made with the stuff thrown in it, but it exists to hype up a card game that only exists in japan, and it very recently also just finished airing

 

i hope that wasn't too long of a read. that should make known all the different anime series under the umbrella dragonball, and also that as a manga, it's only dragonball, all the way up to the defeat of majin buu and epilogue after.
