GOODNIGHT, I SAY

Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow):

Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot.

I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :)

Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep.

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

I had a meeting with my teacher today. She's from Spain too so we talked in our native language and it felt weird lol, like removing the mask that I wear when speaking English/Swedish or something... After going over my progress and some class related things, she got into the slightly more personal territory and shared with me her experiences when moving to Sweden and what her journey looked like. I told her it's been pretty hard, how I feel like I'm in some short of liminal space in between worlds where Spain has stopped being my home (when I visited, the places that once were so familiar just felt like one of those uncanny valley nuke-testing fake cities. It was not a pleasant experience, I wanted to vomit) yet Sweden still doesn't truly feel like my home home

It was awful in the beginning, I basically felt like I was just a guest in my boyfriend's world, even when he kept encouraging me to do things and find people here, I couldn't bring myself to do much. I had a hard time coping with everything but it got better after I started my classes and got some friends who are also in similar positions. At least I feel like I have some sort of life here that is mine so I'm on the right track. I just feel complicated emotions towards my home country and such, bitterness and resentment mixed with homesickness is a good combo for emotional paradoxes

Uh yeah she told me that it kind of felt like that for her too the first years but that it gets better. She said I should focus 100% on the language first as I'm doing and it's also very important for me to be able to get a job in healthcare so yeah, learn the language of the country you're moving to (life pro tip). Luckily for me I have the opportunity to continue learning Swedish focusing on healthcare when I'm done with my current course so extra good I'd say

There was a Touhou song I was gonna link but I can't be bothered on phone so yeah

@Lucilyn do you think Yukari feels homesick too? lol

@Breloomancer I didn't know Dutch baby was a type of pancake, I thought you were referencing some song or something

I think Yukari literally visits the outside world, though she seems too old/fuzzy memory to be homesick after existing for thousands of years

This short story about the flowers blooming every 60 years incident written from her perspective is interesting (and the lesson at the end is actually real and relevant to daily life)

And yeah I'm sure a new place will obviously start to feel more familiar the longer you live there

And learning the language better means more opportunities to feel comfortable in places, scenarios, socializing..

Good morning, everyone!

That sounds like a lot to deal with mentally, Miri. I'm glad you're feeling more comfortable in Sweden. I believe in you, learn that language!

I read it but I'm curious why you think it's *interesting*, there's probably a lot of Touhou lore I'm not aware of so yeah feel free to enlighten me

well it's interesting to see internal thoughts from a character like Yukari of course, interesting to see that she struggles with remembering (boring) things in a vulnerable way for such an omnipotent-appearing character, and just the great lesson about how we struggle to remember details that were not important to us, doubly relevant to people with ADHD who struggle with forgetting things often - remembering that you need to be mentally present and conscious of something in order to remember it explains so many forgotten things, and can be done on purpose when you want to not forget
